Ok first of all we need more devs to build similar apps to tapatalk... these guys need competition... cause they dont deserve the popularity they have. Their UI design team must be one of the worst out there. They can't even design sth simple, bold and minimal.... their UI is TERRIBLE!

As for my main issue is that on both 6 and 6 Plus when you choose a topic to open/read you have to wait at the beginning for a while in order to load.... you cannot immediately scroll. Does the same lag (in the beginning) happens to users with iPhone 5S?

I was using Tapatalk until an update around the beginning of the year. The update UI was so pathetic I immediately deleted the app and haven't looked at it since.

They couldn't leave well enough alone. Boards/subjects/threads. Simple concept simple structure and they managed to screw it up beyond all recognition.

Believe this or not, the lag happens because it's loading ads (that you see in thread view, on EVERY page you go to). Use any Adblock and the lag will go away.

I decided to check it out again as it's been years since I used it.

In a nutshell: What an utter mess. I uninstalled it within minutes.

As much as I appreciate tapatalk filling that niche/need. I've never really enjoyed tapatalk as a user. Interface and experience, etc...

I agree with most comments in this thread. Tapatalk is slow, buggy and the constant change of UI by the developer is annoying.

Since Tapatalk update 5.2 I get sponsored content ("native ads") between the first and second thread in the timeline. My Tapatalk account has VIP-stauts and I have never seen these type of ads before.

Have MacRumors forum recently activated these type of ads for the Tapatalk client or is it an issue with the Tapatalk app itself?

There's a huge ongoing thread on imore regarding this subject. Most of us who are beta testing it in test flight are leaving feedback there and it's hit or miss. The constant updates and changes are indeed annoying.

I love the Tapatalk app. I'd rather not have ten apps for all the different forums i browse. I dont find much wrong with it, except for the ads, but ads are everywhere.

Your mobile interface for the forums, previous and now. Should be industry standard. Its phenomenal. If everyone was on top of their game like you, Tapatalk wouldn't have a business case. Would use Safari.

But I say that while I sit here using Tapatalk. Though I bounce back and forth.

On TestFlight, its much better these days, though sometime i. Past I got vip and no ads. It went through a tough period a year or two back. But now launches in favorites mode, easy access to subforums, timeline, and subscribed.

The ads have somehow disappeared now. That makes the app much less frustrated for me. It's still a bit slow, especially when scrolling, but overall more enjoyable.

What do you guys think about Tapatalk's push into social and spamming people with invites to use the app as you "like", "reply", etc their posts? Among the other things like subscribing you to every post you post in?

Register on MacRumors! This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
