I'd like to know where they put the checkouts  Spent 10 minutes searching only to turn up at the counter, get told its the genius bar, young girl whips out a wireless card reader, swipes me and e-mails my receipt to my home.

Thought I was being set up - 'candid camera' style :D

That's really cool. I took my wife to her first Apple store visit and she was blown away. We had walked through South Park mall in Charlotte and in almost every store we visited there was a high ration of sales people to customers - I mean the place was empty (and this was on Saturday afternoon - must be the economy :().
And then we walked into the Apples store and it was buzzing - I mean you could hardly move. Anyway I knew what I wanted - grabbed it and swiped my plastic and the guy said 'shall I email your receipt' and I didn't even tell him my name - must be programed in their system from the card number.
Apple knows how to make things easy and not just in OSX.

So what I'm hearing is that there are actual designated 'Pro' specialists in these store. Right? So why is it that when I specified a Video Specialist with HD know how I got a pair of hamburger flippers helping me choose a system?
Pathetic.

I am not buying your BS for one minute! they are retail stores plain and simple and I for one think they do an outstanding job.

Back in 1990 when I bought my first Mac I was a Republican. Haven't bought a PC since. Now I'm a Demacrat. Do you think......

I am notorious for losing receipts so I love it. I didn't have a receipt to lose. it is still in my mac folder on aol.
Can't really lose it there. ;)

It is kind of funny, I used to be a registered republican, but right around the time that I switched to Macs I also became--not a democrat per se--but a left-leaning independent. This was also around the time G.W. was elected.

Coincidence? :D

I think that people are getting a bit sensitive over the issue, personally, and it certainly doesn't do much to dispel the myth that republicans are largely a group of mirthless stiffs. BUT, isn't Rush Limbaugh a Mac user? This may have been said already, sorry if so. It takes all kinds, people!

Not a big fan of malls, but I still love the occasional visit to the Apple store. I can blend in with the crowd and play with toys and not get hassled too much by staff. :)
