What are you talking about? There are tons of people posting in other threads that they have their tracking numbers for Friday delivery. :p I'm one of them. Have fun camping out though.

If your time is worth very little, go right ahead and wait hours at the store. We'll be comfy at home doing other things while the UPS driver delivers our phones :D

We carry guns because of the nutjobs. I can guarantee not a single person in that line would know I was carrying...unless something terrible was happening to myself or one of them.

My friend who works at att told me that they will be checking their stock the night before around 6PM to start getting ready for the release. I know when I worked at best buy for last years 5S release, we had the phones the night before release and workers worked overnight setting up for the release also. They usually aren't allowed to release info on what they have received.

Wish I could be sitting comfy at home for my phone, but AT&T cancelled my phone order without giving me notice beforehand, so it resorts to camping out.

LOL I was kidding about bringing a gun to the apple line. I dont know if id feel more safe or not if a bunch of anti social apple nerds were in line with me armed to the teeth.

So do any of your guys actually feel embarrassed sitting outside a store for so many hours when people walk past and laugh? Or have events like comic con trained you for this day?

I pre-orderd for delivery, so the only line I will possibly be waiting in is the UPS will call line. :cool:

However, if I was I would carry. A large gathering of people financially sound enough to buy new toys may sound like a target rich environment for some of the less savory members of society.

It was directed more at the people that think they're guaranteed to just wait a couple hours at the Apple store and stroll home. There are going to be some deeply upset people that get turned away when the stock dries up, or a fight breaks out, or one of these gun wackos feels he needs to "defend" himself.

There are many states (they're all red states) where it's "normal" to just carry a gun everywhere...... like everywhere. You don't want to live in those states.

Who cares? I'm not out there to please people, I'm out there because every other option failed on me.
 
I'll have my chair, coffee thermos, fully charged 5, fully charged iPad Air with movies, books, and magazines loaded. Haven't decided what to do about potty breaks since there are no open public restrooms nearby.

There, FTFY. I don't know about where you live, but the 2 minutes or so average response time for police to arrive where I live is more than enough time for an aggressor to kill me and get part the way through raping my wife, if I were to be unarmed.

Can you afford those 2 minutes? Didn't think so.
 
I'm not sure about other Apple Stores, but last year the manager came out around 10pm and asked the people in line what capacity/color/carrier iPhone they were wanting. She continued to do this every hour until around 6am at which time she handed out tickets. Some people got were they were after and the others at least didn't have to wait in line all night just to be told they were out of stock. I won't be camping out this year as I preordered, but I hope that something similar to this is done at each store that my fellow MR members are camped out at! All the best guys!
