i have sbsettings, springflash, activator, and a few other things installed on my iphone4.

i used to get around 7-8 hrs of usage and 8hrs or so of standby before the batt died. the 7-8 hrs of usage is almost completely phone calls, pandora and web browsing.

after jbing, i haven't seen a difference with my batt life. i'm still getting around 7-8 hrs of use a day before it dies...

basically, my old 3gs used to last me 3/4 of a day before it dies. the iphone4 lasts me the whole day, and sometimes the following morning too

I run SBSettings and LockInfo and I haven't noticed any difference in battery life. I was worried about it so I've been watching it. Maybe I'm crazy but I haven't noticed any difference.

Why do you own an iphone if you keep it in airplane mode all the time.... just like to waste $?

not really, just an addiction i guess, hate paying att for service i dont get at home or work, so am with sprint.. also bought the iphone 4 on CL with the money i made selling my 3gs, so it basically worked out even :) boys with toys..

i was having a strange battery drain that appeared to be resolved by deleting my exchange account on the phone and adding it back.

I tested my battery last night. I charged it to 100% and then let it sit untouched for 6 hours unplugged. I checked the usage and it was only 4 minutes and my battery was still at 100%. I have one push exchange email account and 3 fetch accounts that fetch every hour. I'm guessing that is where the usage came from. So I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Have you heard about an iPod Touch?

lol, that plus the new 3g Peel sprint is rolling out would actually be a pretty slick setup. That is if the new Ipods get a4's and the same camera and screen as the iPhone.

Just wanted to through in some objective thought here. Were basically adding extra things the processor needs to handle. It is going to impact battery life, no doubt about it. I came from a Evo 4G were battery life was freaking TERRIBLE. Glance at your phone and in in 4 hours see sometimes as much as 50% drain. This means you turn off all push functions which then makes all widgets worthless...

Just saying, its not as great maybe as non-jailbroken but still is soooooooo much better than any thing else. Also you might want to do a full battery discharge, your battery might be polling bad.

Is your phone JB? What apps?

My phone seems to be draining stupidly fast, its dropped nearly 30% in with hardly any use. Ive removed any jailbroken apps see if this makes any difference

Yeah it's Jailbroken. I have infinifolders, activator, sbsettings, remove all recents, and all the other stuff that comes with those. I leave 3G, location, ssh, and Bluetooth turned off and I make sure there is nothing running in the backgrounding bar.

I had terrible battery drain on JB IP4 with...

BEFORE-battery hog!
-sbsettings
-winterboard
-backgrounder
-iconclasm
-lockinfo w/ all plugins on lockscreen and infoshade
-weather plugin for lockinfo
-htc plugin for lockinfo
-make it mine
-shrink
-tonefx
-notifier w/reminder
-open SSh
-jailbroke slider theme
-iblank
-5 icon dock

so i removed abunch stuff and now have battery life back to normal with...

AFTER-much better!
-lockinfo w/ all plugins on,lockscreen and infoshade
-htc for lockinfo
-weather for lock info
-notifier w/reminder
-toneFX
-iblank
-5 icon dock
-shrink

I believe that getting rid of winterboard and sbsettings was the biggest culprit of battery usage.

I may try to add back sbsetting and open ssh after a few days of trial with it like this.

for now im glad battery seems back to normal pre JB.

My battery seems to be dying very fast. All I got is Sbsettings and Lets Golf 2. 1 hour of playing golf and nothing else drains the battery down to 75% with 3 hours standby. Not sure if that's good or not but it seems to be draining too fast for my liking.

I think my problem was with backgrounder, after I removed it then did a reboot the battery is back to normal. I've unplugged it after a full charged and left it on standby by for 3 hours and it still shows 100%.

I have the following installed.

Sbsettings
Mobile Terminal
OpenSSH - set to off
Lockinfo with Htc plugin for lockinfo
InifiFolders

I thought I had my problem fixed but after an hour of sitting there, the battery dropped to 97%. I restored once more to remove the jailbreak and MyWi and Rock. After the restore, I jailbroke again and only added 3G Unrestrictor. Went out for 7 hours and my battery is down to 90% and that's what I am used to.

Now I'm going to try once more and add MyWi and Rock and see what the battery is like in the morning. Right now it seems like my problem is with MyWi and Rock.

so

so is it sbsettings? That would be a bummer since that is one of the real reasons I wanted to JB.

I originally had terrible battery life. I had sbsettings, MyWi, lockinfo, etc
I had originally restored my phone from a backup because of the original Jailbreakme.com problem with facetime and SMS.

I restored my phone as a new phone and reinstalled everything I had before and more and the battery has been fantastic.

In my case I believe the restore from my old phone screwed something up.
Once I restored as a new phone all is well again.

I' pretty sure the Common thread for most battery drainage issue is the use of Winterboard. I just jailbroke this for the second time and the only thing I have addded different this go around is Winterboard and the battery is draining much faster then previous jailbreak!

well

Well, I removed ROCK and it made all the difference. After removing it, I have for example had some of the BEST battery performance I have ever HAD with this 3gs. I'm currently at 2:30 usage, 26 hours standby and 67% battery STILL.
