I really wish they would add vol indicator options, or open the API. I would rather have the vol slider in the top left notch, tucked away like Apollo has it, or at the absolute least, just default to the thin bar that appears with multiple volume button presses.

While it seems odd, this is not unexpected to me at all. iOS 13.0 is a disaster and since beta 2 I've known that this was going to be a bomb of a release. And clearly they know it, because they are going to move right past 13.0 (never releasing it to the general public) and skip to 13.1 which will be the bare minimum for public consumption.

That's exactly what is happening here.
Do you really think iOS 13 will never be released to the general public? That seems highly unlikely.

13.0 will never be seeded to the public, that is definite as of right now. 13.1.x will be released to the public on the original date for 13.0 (the week of September 16-20).

It was? It's always been yellow-ish orange-ish to me. Definitely not green.

Comparing iOS 13.1 b1 and iOS 13 b8, it's definitely a bright yellow. It's a greenish yellow on my b8 device, so I guess it could be described as yellowish. My backgrounds are blue though so maybe it was just more transparent before. Edit: I updated the wording in the article to be more clear.

Are a developer? No? Then don’t install “beta” software on your device then complain about stability. The entire point of betas IS finding bugs. Don’t want to test? Don’t install betas.

To be fair, iOS 13 beta has been a lot worse than iOS 12 beta was. People do need to avoid installing betas if they can't handle bugs, but anyone who went through the iOS 12 betas might have thought iOS 13 betas would be similarly stable and take the chance.

I'm probably not touching iOS 13 until at least December. It's pretty damn bad and I don't trust they'll get all the issues worked out before release.

No, iOS 13.0 will be released to the public. iOS 13.1 beta is out now so developers can continue with SwiftUI and other features released with iOS 13.1. You shouldn't update to 13.1 unless you don't want to go on golden master!

iOS 13 betas are so buggy that Apple needed to start testing 13.1 before 13 is even out

Mail app is royally ****ed up
iOS 13 betas are so buggy that Apple needed to hive off some features into 13.1, as those features themselves are less ready or removing them removes some dependencies and complexities that makes improving 13.0 easier.

Powerbeats pro also get a little icon in the volume indicator when you change the volume.

Getting a tiny bit better with each update, but still horrible. Waiting to see what new indignities mail.app will thrust upon me with 13.1 beta.

If 13 is released like this it will be the worst release ever (i was one of the first 400 developers starting with the original iphoneOS sdk, and I’ve never seen a beta so bad this late in the beta cycle)

can we scroll between accessories and scenes in control center yet? Seems rather limited for quick controls when you can only have a top 8 like myspace. I have 30 lights how do I choose my favorites apple?

Until the 6th or 7th public beta, iOS 13 was in a very bad state and not anywhere near fit for release. The latest betas are better, but still have lots of bugs. Whether this is normal or to be expected this close to release I’m not sure, but I’d personally prefer if they were at the stage of polishing very minor and obscure bugs by now. Will iOS ever get to that stage again, assuming it has been?

I don’t understand why, every year, iOS has to go so far back in order to move forward. Every year it seems we’re in this position, wondering why their software development cycle and approach has to be this way.

I hope they do skip 13.0 and just focus on 13.1.

This is definitely not normal. On ipados, swiping between apps often re-springs. Email sometimes doesn’t update the mailbox view unless you switch to a different mailbox and back, doesn’t always show mail as being marked read, eventually stops synching, etc. Safari has various glitches where it forgets whether content blocking is on or off. On ipad the tab between split-view windows moves around at random. Many of these bugs have been there for many betas, and are only getting better very slowly.

Have others had issues in iMessage with predictive text? My phone was fine on 12.4 then went in on 13 beta 4 i think. At that time I started seeing random capitalization in the middle of a sentence, the letter "e" would be "e' " (which was terrible annoying) and then it would not choose the most common word in the prediction based on what was being typed. It would choose a totally off the wall word. Any thoughts?
