Announce Messages
- The Setting for allowing Siri to announce incoming text messages when connected to second-generation AirPods and some Beats headphones has been removed in iOS 13 beta 6.

So this is going to be weird. I had this STOP working after it worked in B5 just randomly for no reason. Today it showed back up working this morning while still in B5. Like out of no where the option showed back up in the settings/notifications screen where it was just gone the day before. Now they remove it

I've submitted this bug before, but my alarms can't be turned off when they pop up on the screen. Doesn't matter if I hit Stop or Snooze, they'll keep going off until I open my alarms list and click the radio button to kill each of them. That, though, then requires I remember to go back in and turn them back on at a later time.
Have you tried pressing the power/sleep button?

Is there a way to stop Safari URLs from opening an app? In iOS 12 if you long pressed on a URL you could launch a URL without it opening the app (if that app is on your device). I don’t see anything similar in iOS 13.

works for me on iPhone. Looks like they combined the content preview with a context menu that contains the open in Youtube/reddit/etc, open in new tab, and just "open" (which navigates there in the current tab)

It would be nice to have it both ways, like on the Mac how you can Shift+Option+Volume Up/Down and get a much more fine granularity of volume.

Like if you 3D Touch the volume in the control center you could use have the 32 increments, but normally have the 16. While testing this, on beta 6, you can't use the volume buttons at all with the 3D touched, volume indicator up, probably a bug?

Can't you just drag it to an arbitrary volume, either in control center or via the pop-over when you are adjusting volume?

Let me make another case for the high number of increments for volume: AirPlay. Spotify Connect. Google Cast. With only a few increments, the receiving device has to increase/decrease the volume based on the percentage change from the iPhone. With less increment stages on the iPhone, you naturally get less increment stages on the audio device, meaning you get drastic jumps in volume and end up having to tweak the audio device manually for the ideal volume.

I’m still on beta 5 and the 34 increments are brilliant for this. The volume of the audio device (I tried a Megablast, Denon AVR, Samsung TV and a HEOS 7) increases and decreases buttery smooth. It’s infinitely better this way.

What are the chances that guy over at everythingapplepro will come up with a video titled 'ios 13 beta 6 300+ new features' ?

you realize he just reads forums like this, writes down the new stuff and makes his **** videos. Spewing out whatever vile he can to make as much money as he can. I despise that trash human being. He even renamed some of his older videos to newer names a few times to get new views when the new iPhone dropped.

He’s that smeared **** stain on the public restroom cubicle wall.

3-finger tap is an accessibility feature; zoom-in/out when you 3-finger tap. This new copy/paste thing could be a bug.

Wow, I had no idea he did all of that you mentioned! Was just poking fun at his ridiculously exaggerated, click-baity titles.

I'd love to know about this too! I can see for myself when the public beta drops tomorrow, but I've also noticed this issue and would love to know it's been fixed.

FWIW, my iPhone is running beta but my watch is running release. With the previous iOS beta on my phone my watch not on beta was being run down quicker than ever, so part of the problem might have been on the iOS side of things and not the watchOS beta.

As dwaite said in a few posts above, you can have finer volume control by moving the slider when the HUD appears on screen or on the volume slider in Control Centre.

Apple has still not fixed the problem where you can't drag an app from a folder in the dock to multi task

Likewise, still can't drag Calendar events to new times.

Oh god they are really committed to this new app updating process. I had hopes they would change it eventually, not it seems all hope is lost.

Keep providing feedback. If enough of us speak up, hopefully they'll come to their senses.

That’s a bad decision because sometimes an app updates to a feature or user interface design that I don’t like and I won’t update it for a while until it’s reverted or changed again etc. I don’t just automatically update all apps just because there *is* an update. I’ve always liked to preview the changelog first.

Likewise, how would I know if an app adds new features if it updates automatically in the background?

The feature was very buggy, as it would interrupt currently playing audio, without letting it resume after announcing incoming message.

It probably is being punted. Apple still has a lot of work to do. iOS 12 had 12 betas and I suspect Apple will increase the frequency of iOS 13 betas as they tighten stability.
Yeah, given how rocky this beta cycle has been, I wouldn't be surprised if more things get pushed back. They're flying close to the sun.

I already have provided this feedback three times to them, as well as several other minor design details like the "send mail" arrow on ipad that is SLIGHTLY off to the right over the little "plus +" icon instead of sitting centered on top of it. They still haven't fixed it. I dont get it, little details like this shouldnt happen at Apple.

I think the goal is have the operating system automatically update the apps. So people don’t have to waste time updating them.
If only it would happen.

I always tend to bump it or shake right be for I let go of the slider, I can usually get it exactly where I want it, but never on the first try. Also the main issue is a the super low volumes, when one bar is too much. Apple should make the bottom 4 bars be 8 bars. There is no need for it to be a linear scale.
