I just don't understand why lately when I ask a question, she says she will send it to my phone. Did she always do this and I missed it? And inconsistency is the other issue. When she works, it's great, but suddenly she can't turn a light on or off.
Yes 😡 I have experienced so many similar scenarios but when I try to discuss how she is subpar I forget about the random stuff like this and it’s such a problem

A mini media system… A small box that combines Apple TV with a video camera and in/out connections to your tv and one or two media players. Then wired or wireless connections to HomePods. That would give you full media access and output to your HomePods from the tv and other media players you have along with streaming service via the enhanced AppleTV. It also gives you video calls with. Center stage.
Maybe if they brought back iTunes and provided people with ability to easily use their own libraries along side of being able to stream would be great… you notice, i said ITunes… no mention of that other piece of junk they replaced iTunes with… what a joke that software is… and then once they give us back our beloved iTunes, then integrate it into the Apple TV and make that the hub of the homes entertainment entertainment & media center… which also incorporates the Home app and all the potential it brings (if its managed right) for the modern homes and businesses… but it all hinges on a decent digital asset management tool, like iTunes (was).

Apple - give us back our iTunes!

You can do this with iTunes Match.
Notice the word in the service you mention… and its not what they currently offer us… what Apple currently offers us is hard to use junk software and difficult to navigate and or allow us to integrate our own music and videos and manage them like the digital assets they are.

iTunes was much more than a music player - it was a descent audio/video digital asset management tool. The alternative they gave us is nothing like that and just focuses on streaming… which could be incorporated into iTunes, or kept as a separate service… hey there ya go… just keep anything from that current app out of iTunes all together… just let iTunes be what iTunes is… and if subscription based streaming sells, then great, let it do so separately… subscriptions to access streams are not digital assets. Movies and Music I personally own by paying for them… are digital assets.

Apple - Give us back our iTunes!

To be honest, ever since I got the HomePod about a year ago, the firmware updates have only made the sound quality better and better. With the launch of Dolby Atmos (Spatial Audio), this speaker to me, provides a theater like experience right from the home and I'm very satisified.

The purchase has been worthwhile since the pandemic has limited the ability for me to go to theaters. I think the size is good enough as is and I'm still surprised the sound quality Apple is able to push out at such a compact size.

All I want is a new chip that can do more on-device siri processing, for siri to get smarter and more reliable when executing shortcuts, and to expand the capabilities that personal created shortcuts can offer with thread and more smarthome capability support.

I will happily trade up the existing homepod for the next one if it can do that. I have limited desk space so I wouldn't want a larger homepod although I'll see when it comes up how much bigger this might be and how much better the sound quality it can produce over existing OG homepod.

Well, they kept including the dock plates with iPods for the Hi-Fi for a while post discontinuation. They also keep updating the OG HomePod, it's not like they hung it out to dry. Just stopped selling it. I'm not sure why there'd be a 'trust issue'.
Because without a line in, the writing is on the wall.

Well, I’m on an older version of Mac OS so I’m still on iTunes. Not sure what has changed in iOS. I honestly haven’t paid that much attention.

Add Wi-Fi network mesh capability. I'm not sure of the terminology. But HomePods already have Wi-Fi, just add mesh and then other devices can connect. They seem big enough to have room for any additional needed antennas. PS I have little knowledge and little expertise in these technologies, but we've got them spread all over our residences already. But mesh Wi-Fi costs about what the original HomePods cost, so maybe a lot is involved.

A larger Homepod? Is that where the left over trash can Mac Pros are going?

I remember the Apple HiFi. It looked like a small piece of furniture, being so big. Wow... But anyway, still love my larger Homepod. It rocks...

I would be over the moon if Apple provided HomePods that could act at as a *real* Atmos array. Plug in as many as I want, all over my living room, configure them with my Apple TV, and go to town.

My second choice would be for Wisa support....

That would be some serious wireless syncing of many channels of audio! Some atmos systems are 11, 13 or 15 channels!
