I recently added the Siri Suggestions widget to my first screen and I really like it. It’s not perfect and probably not for everyone, and the way icons appear in different places prevents muscle memory, but I’ve really enjoyed having the apps I usually use at a certain point in the day available right there.

I’d recommend at least trying it.

Same experience here!

I did try it, until I found out that a search on the Home Screen brings up the Siri suggestions as well.
No need for the widget - so this is my setup now.

Everything I access on a regular to semi-regular basis is on the first and only page. Everything else is in the App Library.

The Calendar widget is in a Smart Stack that automatically rotates with Reminders.

It still seems strange to me that you can't natively turn off labels (apparently the apps in the dock don't need them but the rest do).

You should also be able to close folder icons natively too. One of the things I liked about Android was the Nova launcher which you could configure folders to open on a specific app in the folder when you press the folder icon, or swipe up to open the folder. So you could have a News folder which defaulted to your favourite news app but swipe up to choose other news apps. Apple has kinda done this with the App Library but it's grouped by Apple. It's good that we can now configure more on iOS I suppose.

This is the only thing on my first screen. 2x4 Siri Suggestions and nothing else. I love the simplicity.

Simple... using my Looney Toons Gossamer sketch and limiting my apps (Except for what’s posted on my Home Screen, all apps are in the box in the upper left). Not a fan of Widgets or the App Library.
