"Interesting", I suspect, in the sense suggested by the well-known Chinese expression. It's been ... interesting, let's leave it at that for now.

Yes very much so."Interesting", I suspect, in the sense suggested by the well-known Chinese expression.
It's 44 degrees Celsius today, or 112 degrees Fahrenheit.
View attachment 2535906 I'll be leaving work later. My LG 12,000 BTU air conditioner isn't working, and I'm drenched in sweat. The air conditioner is broken anyway. Place a bowl of water in front of your door and shops doors for cats, dogs, and birds
Sorry to hear that. I hope you can find a solution that works for you. Best of luck with it.Trying to come to terms with some recent health news. I've always been very fit, and healthy, and have never smoked, and alcohol, has always been a very occasional thing at best. I went and had a CT Coronary angiogram to get a Calcium Score, as it's a requirement in my country to get access to Statins, to lower my cholesterol (stubbornly just above normal limits). The report afterwards, showed I had a little bit of atheroma/plaque, but nothing to worrisome, and started statins, which have been great, and lowered my cholesterol below 2, and a change in diet (long overdue).
However, the CT scan showed that my 'Aortic Root' was dilated, and so had to be referred to a Cardio Thoracic surgeon for an opinion, and with my healthcare knowledge/experiences and employment, thought he'd just say, let's keep an eye on it, with yearly/6 monthly scans etc. But in my appt 2 days ago, no mention of that, simply, this is the surgical option, they can rupture at anytime, don't be running too often, or too hard, no weight training, blah blah.
Which has placed me in an awful predicament; no surgery and wait and see, or surgery, knowing that I don't have enough a/l or sick leave, or finances to survive paying rent, bill and living costs for 3 months, and an Australian system which doesn't help for my demographic.
Really sorry to hear this news. There’s no short term disability available while you recover from surgery?Trying to come to terms with some recent health news. Seemingly not. Yes for a long term (2 years) but only job seeker allowance and rent support, adding up to 'next to nothing'.Really sorry to hear this news. There’s no short term disability available while you recover from surgery?

This is a similar reality for many here in the States as well. In most sane peoples minds, the goal of a social safety net is to prevent financial ruin - to never get there, however in the states eye, nothing significant can/will be done until you reach financial ruin and have nothing left. Then and only then does the states social safety net (if you want to call it that) kick in. It is antithetical to most's assumed understanding but that is exactly how it works. I've watched it go this way many times: get the needed medical treatment & incur large, financially ruining medical debts, use that series of medical bills to leverage government safe harbor laws to pay for said bills via hardship withdrawals depleting retirement savings and in that endeavor lose their assets. At this point, where you have zero wealth, this is where the state kicks in with benefits.Seemingly not. By most world standards and measurements, the lack of a functioning public health care system in the U.S. has been a significant detriment to the population. The primary cause of bankruptcy here is medical debt. Nowhere else in advanced countries of the world quite like this. This is a similar reality for many here in the States as well. I am sorry you are going through this.
I dont want to get my hand slapped with political opinion but I do agree that the out of control costs of healthcare in the US can be destroyers of family/generational wealth & I have seen it many times - as a parent, do I live and bankrupt myself or do I die and pass my assets to my kids. many spaces in the medical insurance space desperately need reforms
Sorry for the news. Despite your efforts to stay in shape, this is happening? Could it be attributed to a genetic disorder? Can they at least explain why it happened? Also are you at a normal body weight for your age and height?CT scan showed that my 'Aortic Root' was dilated,
How warm is it? Call out a service engineer. The air conditioner in my room is not cooling at all. What can I do?
My AC brand is LG.
Agree. How warm is it? Call out a service engineer.
Exactly.Personally I live in a country that’s getting hotter and not many homes have AC. We just use fans, keep the blinds and curtains drawn and generally get by.
Our country is generally cold, except for the city where I live. It's right in the middle of Cilicia, and we turn our air conditioners on in April and off in November. It's 35 degrees outside right now. Unfortunately, no industry in Türkiye functions properly. Even air conditioner repairs. They only provide service by appointment, but they don't schedule appointments. They also rip you off during maintenance. When they don't do what you want, they leave the air conditioner half-finished and leave. The air conditioner is an LG Beko. It's a 15,000 BTU air conditioner, and it's been installed for 18 years. Made in KoreaHow warm is it? Call out a service engineer.

It was between 30-32 here on and off for a few weeks. Grim. Especially if you like to exercise like I do!Our country is generally cold, except for the city where I live. They charge $100 for refueling and $70 for cleaning. That's why we fix our own appliances. I know air conditioning, I install and refuel, but I couldn't figure out what was wrong with this one
Where I am, we usually get 5 days in the 40c's, and and many, many days in the late 30'sIt was between 30-32 here on and off for a few weeks. Grim. Especially if you like to exercise like I do!

What’s a honey list?I have the next few weeks off; a stay-cation of sorts and am contemplating how I will structure the honey list as to accomplish it.
Wish me luck![]()
