I'm writing a self-reflection essay for the piano studio, one of the only written assignments for that. What an incredibly useful exercise, I must say. Normally I think self-reflection essays are a waste of time, but for piano lessons/performances, it's such a good idea. I talked about every possible aspect, and the ways I've improved in each area or am thinking about each area differently. I just turned in 1500 words.

We're potentially looking at almost five feet of snow this weekend. Not five inches, five FEET. Unbelievable. I'm originally from the desert, where we maybe get an inch of snow a year - maybe.
Good luck with that. I don't recall are you on campus or pretty close?

I'm on campus - thankfully everything I need is a 5 minute walk. I was going to go out to dinner somewhere off-campus to celebrate the end of the term, but that might not happen...

Ouch! I'm sitting here amazed that it was 85 degrees yesterday, I had the air conditioner running in the house, was out in shorts and t-shirt walking the dogs. And today we had snow showers and a high of 40 degrees.

From dog-walking to dog-sledding.

Just spent some time cleaning out my Youtube subscriptions, getting rid of stuff I really don't want to follow any more, for my mental health. I kept a couple of reputable ones, along with Girl with the Dogs. Highly recommended.
I desperately need to do that. I have hundreds, if not thousands, of YouTube channel subscriptions. I just deleted Instagram from my phone, too. Best thing I've ever done.

Wondering if I am more concerned with Dolphin safe tuna, or Tuna safe Dolphin!?

/s

Weather patterns this winter for MN where I live have been interesting if not a bit more normal than recent years. I understand that West of me, near the mountains that we are in a warmer than average winter, but for late 2025 - early 2026, the temps have been closer to normal (until recently as it has been too warm) and we have had decent snow / moisture totals for our lakes and streams.

Part of the problem with "Dolphin safe Tuna" is that the fishing companies take out so much tuna in an area that the dolphins starve to death.

I opened up my Raspberry Pi, which is running Variety wallpaper changer.
This is what greeted me

Dang, I feel sleepy...

I also found this picture of these vicious Aussie wildlife specimens in my phone --

Don't be too scared.

Trying to write a fugue in the style of Bach with no knowledge of counterpoint is very difficult! Writing a Baroque-inspired jazz chart where the voices will be passed to different instruments as in a fugue.

Currently just gone 4 am. Been awake since 1 am. So way too much on my mind. Mostly a trade show I’m doing this weekend and the pain in my knees and back from setting up said show earlier today.

That sounds absolutely amazing.

The very best of luck with it.

I heard a joke that made me laugh.

My wife makes bootleg liquor in the backyard. But I love her still.
This goes to show that humour is subjective, often culturally specific, and sometimes doesn't travel well, least of all in certain specific cultural contexts.

Now, granted, it is entirely possible that I simply do not understand this sentence - after all, I hail from the British Isles and I have rarely found anything from the US to be funny, hilarious, still less witty,... as my sense of humour is firmly rooted in the European tradition - but I am afraid that you will have to explain to some of us Across the Pond why this is funny, or, rather, why it may be considered funny from your cultural perspective..
