It took me twice as long to get it up and running with all the updates, and I have only installed Office, nothing else, as it took me to set up my Raspberry Pi 5 with Ubuntu,
I remember when I first played with Linux 20-some years ago that I was also dabbling with Windows at the same time. After surrounding myself with garlic and silver stakes, of course, before turning Windows on... One of the things that got me was how long it took to install just Windows (and the time always included several restarts). A standard Linux distro would install much faster with no restarts needed for many distros (except Debian, which at one time required one restart). And when the distro was installed, I had a usable OS AND basic software installed.

The other fun problem I'd hear discussed back then was the necessity of reinstalling Windows every so often in order to keep it functioning properly and with reasonable performance. So every so often, you'd have to repeat the whole horror of Windows intallation.
