Yup, if one wants to look dapper, choose your hat and clothing wisely. For instance, I always wear a collared shirt with my fedora's. But if I happen to go out in a t-shirt (getting rarer and rarer for me) I will grab a baseball cap to go with it.

Exactly.

Anyone who tries on a hat while wearing a t-shirt, or shorts, or casual jeans, or runners will not look right, and thus, will not feel right. The clothes and the style of headgear must somehow work together.

Baseball caps (which I loathe, by the way) go best with shorts, t-shirts, & runners; you wouldn't wear a baseball cap with a shirt and tie and suit and black leather shoes.

However, hats work better with some sense of elegance, & formality - and that means, well cut, classic styling.

The music movement that called themselves "Mods" had - or cultivated - a very distinctive appearance; dark well-cut suits, white collared shirts, ties, black shoes, and porkpie hats. I loved it, and thought it incredibly dapper, elegant & stylish.

Disposing of old gasoline.

Finding someone or someplace of take it is proving to be most difficult.

I was happy to learn Minnesota has county recycling centers which take it for free. I disposed of 5 gallons a few weeks ago. I hope you have a similar service in your area.

That's my new summer hat. I also have a nice winter hat, named the Corleone, also from the same company, www.sterkowski.com

I considered buying this last winter (true story) but decided against it. I was afraid I’d end up on an episode of Seinfeld.

Friday, one of my very favorite “F” words...

Right behind Fhiskey, Fin, Feer, and Fcotch. Old one but a good one.

You seem to have forgotten "fine", which is one of my own personal favourites.

I have more use for the 'C' word.

Crisps, chips, cake and custard.

Chocolate, too?

So which one is it for Doordash people relating to the additional instructions you enter?

A. There is a system glitch where they can't get to them
B. They don't know they exist
C. They can and know but don't care

There is only one possible lot and building that matches my description, but I still see them drive all around the map until they either call or eventually find their way. But I would still rather have that than someone who finds it first try but delivers the wrong order :(

Well at least you get some food! Living in the country now none of the take aways deliver here. So we have a choice of a pizza van on a Thursday, or Fish and chips on a Saturday.

Mother loved takeaway chips (from a good chipper) especially in summer.

Before her dementia kicked in, sometimes, she would call out cheerfully, snatching up her car keys en route out the door, almost before I could answer, and ask whether I wanted chips.

My tasks were to lay the table, prepare sautéed eggs & tomatoes (unless she had it in mind to buy fish as well, which sometimes happened if she thought that neither of us should bother with cooking) and await her return, (and even en route to the car, from the chipper, she would have scoffed more than a few chips, stuffing them into her mouth, before putting the key into the ignition).

My dad who was a butcher would buy chips on a Friday on the way home. We’d then have ham (quality ham. Not like the supermarket stuff) egg and chips.
Then they’d go out to the pub and we’d have a sitter.

I love buying a ham from a butcher and chopping bits and pieces off and frying it up in butter, and then add eggs on the side. That glorious aroma. Of course this is at 5 AM in the middle of winter so it usually isn't time appropriate!

Bacon and eggs are considered a timeless culinary classic for a very good reason; they work, always and forever, on a breakfast plate.

Whatever happened to Automator? that was one of the most powerful tools I have seen, I wish i was a programmer so I could use it. Seems Apple wanted to cut the cord on it but somehow came back as Shortcuts on iOS.

Seemingly I don't. I called about a dozen places in my and around my county, and even the county itself and I turned up nothing. No one will take it.

But if you ended up in Seinfeld you'd have eternal fame, maybe not fortune, and be remembered forever.

Sounds terrific. I am thrilled we finally got some pears again.

What’s on my mind?

Hoping mom had a good night. Glad to hear a Blue Jay right now.:)
Our birds are very happy this morning. Making sure we keep all the water stations are topped up as it’s very warm.
Having a rest after some gardening first thing.
Will go for a walk later after it’s cooled down a bit.

Hope your mom had a good night.

The trip to the farmers' market was terrific, and, is still some sort of fun (unlike any other sort of shopping), as you can chat to the individual stallholders reasonably safely.

Market purchases included bread from the French bakery, vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber, French onions, onions, celery, carrots, courgettes(zucchini) , aubergines (eggplant), peppers, broccoli, French beans, salad, garlic), herbs (parsley, basil, coriander), chilli peppers, fruit (lemons, oranges, nectarines, mirabelle plums), honey, cheese, olives, elderflower cordial, and a few other bits and pieces, such as free range, organic eggs.

Bees love our garden.

Sounds like some great purchases. And yay! the bees.

Hope you are well otherwise.

I’ve heard it’s quite hot there. Thanks for helping the birds.

Hope you have a nice walk.

Me, taking care of us. Water, wheatgrass and a round of stretching for me. Then prepping mom’s breakfast (She loves Siggi’s non dairy yogurt with fresh blueberries, crushed nuts, freeze dried strawberries and a banana for dunking). I have to wait an hour to eat (the wheatgrass needs to settle).

Then back to sleep, if the neighbors and their dogs keep quiet.

Will look into finally buying some Apple stock (so annoyed this never occurred to me), but if I can use some of my 401k to do so, I will on Monday.
