I spent thousands on doctors/tests/antibiotics and yep, it's a vitamin. I've tried everything. So I read about a government study on sibo, and that led me to this more holistic approach. It's definitely making a difference. I am still seeing a rheumatologist Monday though as my joints still hurt.

I guess you could call this desperate.

What's "Sibo"? That is good that you're seeing a rheumatologist this coming Monday; maybe he or she will have something to offer you: testing, meds, etc. It's also good that these vitamins are helping you feel better, too.

ETA: just ran a Google and have learned that "SIBO" stands for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Ah....yes, I can imagine that this causes huge discomfort after eating! A friend had this, along with IBS and other GI issues.

I noticed in one of the articles that I read that a special diet called Low FODMAP is sometimes used; this would require the help and guidance of a registered dietitian so that the patient gets all of the daily nutrients that are needed in spite of drastically eliminating some items.

I'm eating based on low FODMAP right now. I hadn't thought of a dietitian. I just follow guides and keep a food journal. My discomfort seems to be getting better. Unfortunately I had let it go on so long (not entirely my fault), I might need to consider a dietitian. The pain was near constant. Now it comes and goes. A good diet to follow is vital now.

Thanks for the idea. None of my doctors brought this up and it's disappointing.

Individuals are different.
People, in groups, are pretty much the same.

I found this out a long time ago, when visiting a village just 30 years out of the stone age. People gossiped about the same stuff -- who's doing what with whom and when and where.

In any one group about 95% are good, honest, trustworthy people. The other 5%, well their parents should have been given contraceptives...

I agree.

I try my very best to not judge who should've been and not have been born.

Group think and gossip are realities, I understand.

Even though things, people, and situations may seem/feel pretty much the same. They are different, and I have come to learn that approaching them with an open mind with less of a prejudice/expectation is a way to go about it that doesn't lead to letdowns.

Finally got my 13 Pro Max this weekend and set it up yesterday. Pretty easy though this is the fifth time I have set up an iPhone since 2011 (!). Will report more later probably on the iPhone section but really enjoying it so far. Last upgrade was in February 2017 after all.

A heads-up, which might run the risk of temporarily derailing this thread - for which I do apologise, but I do think that a number of people would like to read this update: @D.T.; @Clix Pix; @bunnspecial; @ericgtr12, @Ulenspiegel, @ericwn; and anyone else who expressed concern at the time.

Several weeks ago in another thread, in early September, a post was made suggesting @Zenithal was deceased, and, as many of you can imagine, for those of us who knew him, this caused us considerable concern, and no small amount of distress.

Confirmation of this was requested from the individual who had originally posted this news on a number of occasions, but was not forthcoming. [Moderator note: the posts were subsequently deleted]

Now, while @Zenithal's last (public) post on this forum was made in August 2020, in fact, he had been in touch with me by DM as recently as August 2021.

In any case, over the past few days, @Zenithal has reached out to a few of us, which means that reports of his demise were somewhat premature.

For what it is worth, he wrote to me this past week-end by DM.

He writes that he is doing well, and, based on our conversations, he's busy, and has just got a different focus with his time, one that means that he is not posting here much anymore.

So for those who saw that particular post in September, and reacted with shock, tried but were unable to get any clear answers, you can now rest easy.

Thank you for the information, S.
I am glad Zeni is okay.

Thank you for the update. Having lost a close friend to Covid in February, it’s good to hear that @Zenithal is actually alive and well.

Moderation Note

The above posts about @Zenithal were moved here from another thread, where they were off-topic. This was deemed a suitable thread, partly because it discusses current events, and partly because it's difficult to be off-topic here, given the thread title. ("Difficult" doesn't mean "impossible", FWIW.)

I have made some edits in doing the move, partly to clarify the new context (e.g. edit "this thread" to "another thread"), and partly to remove some commentary about the posts that had been previously deleted from the other thread.

I have left ScepticalScribe's mention of those deleted posts as intact as practical, to provide a suitable context for her new information regarding @Zenithal. Please avoid any further discussion of those deleted posts, as it could technically fall under public discussion of specific moderation.

If you have questions about the move of the above posts, the earlier deletion of the posts in the other thread, or anything else involving specifics of this moderation, you are welcome to use the Contact form.

After some delay, finally installed the new mesh system.
Worked flawlessly except for my NAS that didn’t like its lost asigned ip.
All other devices didn’t mind losing theirs. They will get reassigned ip’s later anyway.
My air purifiers reconnected super fast with the new wifi. Was difficult earlier.
A LOT speedier it sure is!
Have to check this up when I have slept more, and do the restructuring of the reassigning of new ip’s.

Snowing is a good sleep out recipe however ☃️❄️???

The audacity of the CEO of a local business, to not lead his C-level employees better is driving me up the wall.
Currently, the C-level employees seem to do what they want, when they feel like it. And, to add, their poor decisions cost the business financially. Repeatedly.

I am losing hope that they CEO will do something about it.
With 2022 approaching, it might be time to start to think of alternative employment...

Good luck with the job hunting.

Teldar Paper has 33 different vice presidents each earning over 200 thousand dollars a year. Now, I have spent the last two months analyzing what all these guys do, and I still can’t figure it out. One thing I do know is that our paper company lost 110 million dollars last year, and I’ll bet that half of that was spent in all the paperwork going back and forth between all these vice presidents. After being a tad bit mentally stressed yesterday, and now it is 02:57 and am wide awake.
Today might prove to be interesting and tiring...

A previous Manager of mine, contacted me about a job opportunity. He sold the job to me based on the compensation package, and a few other things.

Then I sort of caught him in a lie, and called him out on it (no response). Whats’s on my mind is, why was he not simply truthful from the start and fully expressed all the aspects of the role and the compensation package…?

Frustrated, to say the least…

He may have an issue with telling people bad news (or not-so-good news). If he lied once it's likely he'll lie again.

I would happily accept less compensation to work with people who are ethical and kind.

Going home to the Philippines is on my mind. It has been lovely visiting family in the UK but I want to go home. Missed the birth of my 4th daughter last month and she is getting so big already. How times have changed. Today I could get from the Philippines to the UK reasonably easily but I cannot get from the UK to the Philippines. They understandably just don't want people from Europe right now. It's hard living in a third world country (the UK). Hope to get back to the civilised world early next year :-(

I believe by Christmas the Philippines will pass the UK in COVID vaccinations administered. They had the infrastructure, they had the people to give the shots, they just lacked the vaccines as with most poor countries. Sure they have a larger population and take up wanes once you hit the 'anti vaccine' population but they will soon be jabbing needles faster and more often than the UK are.

Our new and extremely brilliant, sharp and young PM in Sweden, Magdalena Andersson...?
The old and profoundly graceful ABBA ladies and their voices...?

What a time of female grace and powerful women. I am filled with inspiration in my own work too

Snow is melting ☃️?
Outdoors are wonderful ?
At least right now. Who knows what next week holds ?

With our HOA (I know, I know...), we have termite protection. The company is onsite today, checking the pods and such. Normally, when onsite, they never knock on the door to say they are onsite, etcetera. However, today they did. I wonder why they did...
