My winter countdown is now until 12/21 when it will start getting more light again, albeit a minute or so each day. The sun sets here at 3:30 PM. Current mantra: only 3 weeks more, only 3 weeks more. It isn't really noticeable until the beginning of February but it's that small incremental glimmer of hope that matters.

Well at least when you get to the shortest day, you know it won’t get any worse.

Ordered a new wifi mesh system. Time to let go of the old Airport Extremes I've had a long time ?
They've been awesome. Too bad that Apple did't continue and upgraded those.

But it is what it is, so now looking forward to get a much better wifi 6 at home.
Fortunately I’ve read that Airport Express are still working with those newer systems.
Good news if that is so.

A LOT of snow is falling here ?❄️

Good luck with the mesh system. You can keep the snow.

I've been very happy with my Ubiquiti Alien. It actually comes in singles or as a pair, or can be put together as a larger mesh setup with using additional ones. I bought just a single one first to see if that would be sufficient in my small condo apartment, and it has been; otherwise I would've wanted two of them.

Question; ordered a 14” MacBook Pro 16GB and 1TB off John Lewis for £2299. Due for delivery today. Waiting all day. Didn’t show up. DPD say there’s a delay. So, today the same model is available from Amazon for £2243 and available next day. What would you do? Return unopened JL one and order from Amazon? Save £56?

It is hot here. Please send any spare snow...

I have forwarded Your wish ❄️??

Actually I don't mind the variation of weather that I have done in periods earlier.
Winter is a great opportunity to hibernate a bit more, unless you have to take care of its circumstances a lot. There are other people who do that here. So I trust that Mother Earth do what she needs to do with her body. She is an old wise woman. ?☃️?☀️?

Probably just wait to be honest.

I bought 2 D-link COVR-X1862 AX1800, I have 2 Extremes now, which is needed and sufficient. So here it is like 2 or none.

If they are not to satisfaction I’ll return them. Never a hazzle with these guys. The store have long videos of technical describing and jada jada. It was a good price on these and some other’s. I usually pick something in the midrange of price. Intuition usually don't go wrong if I educated myself of the circumstances enough as well.

I suppose there is the 2 year warranty from John Lewis? However "when" we were in Europe wasn't it consumer law for all retailers to provide a 2 year warranty? Don't know if that's changed or how good the JL warranty is?

Not sure if this is any help. I ordered a printer online and the wait time was months. Not a problem, I could wait. Some time later I spotted a different printer at a better price from the manufacturer (they had a deal on). Contacted the original order to cancel only to be told it had literally just shipped. However, they said I could refuse delivery and it is returned at no cost to me. I stopped delivery driver unloading from the van, they did a "refused delivery" on their pad and left OK with it all. Next day email from original order showing order cancelled, money refunded all OK.

So, what are JL terms for refusing delivery?

personally though I would wait.

Spoke to JL this morning and they won’t price match. They said to refuse delivery as you mentioned and get a refund. It’s just if JL 2 year warranty is worth the extra or not?

Price match is if there is an equivalent real shop. I have used their price match on numerous occasions to get their warranty (that is buy from them and avoid Currys etc).
Can't speak for 2 years but had nothing but great service when issues have been on items when new. I hear good things about the long term policies but never had to try it.

But I also avoid Amazon, it would be a no brainer for me, for 56 notes I would stay with JL. But its your loot and your item.

But check the T+C for the long warranties.

Yeah, I think all the stories about Amazon avoiding tax might just make me take the £55 on the chin.

I really need to get one of those.

I also am really fed up with the Greek alphabet despite my heritage.

ISU Grand Prix figure skating finale to be held in Osaka has just been cancelled. I don't want to discuss any more just venting.

I'm trying CandiBactin-BR and CandiBactin-AR for my sibo. Second day and so far minor changes. Less pain. Deceased urgency for the ladies room. Just the heartburn is really bad.

If this works, I might finally get to stay above 100 lbs. Yesterday I was 99 lbs (44.9 kg). So I'll take the heartburn any time if this can help me.

I don't know about anyone else but I have absolutely no idea what the heck you're talking about here. I have the suspicion, though, that this "CandiBactin-BR" and "CandiBactin AR" are some sort of products offered over-the-counter as "treatment" outside the realm of standard clinical allopathic pharmacology and standard allopathic clinical medicine as it is customarily practiced in the US. Whatever....

I really love this thread, and how thoughts move around in circles, rain and sometimes hurricane’s.

Regarding weather, my Wi-Fi 6 mesh system are delayed because of all the snow here.
There you see, it's snow sensitive ❄️?

I spent thousands on doctors/tests/antibiotics and yep, it's a vitamin. I've tried everything. So I read about a government study on sibo, and that led me to this more holistic approach. It's definitely making a difference. I am still seeing a rheumatologist Monday though as my joints still hurt.

I guess you could call this desperate.
