Wondering why I now think longer and harder, before I make certain decisions.

Honestly, back in the day, I would make a decision, split second, and that was the end of that. Now that I am older, certain issues seem to last with me longer. Rather frustrating, because sometimes I feel I over digest some issues. As in the current one, regarding my job.

Alas, Happy Christmas everyone…

My kittie's (<-- See left) Chrissy present to us was her stomach contents on the bedroom carpet.
It is the first time that she has looked embarrassed. So she spent Christmas day on light rations.

My foot's Chrissy present to the rest of me is a bout of gout (sorry, didn't intend to make the rhyme...).

Anyway, if that's the worst of my problems, I'm doing pretty well.

Thinking of small island nations that are losing their homeland due to sea level rising, and hundreds of thousands of South East Asians being evacuated due to typhoons, floods and volcanoes.

Got my Moderna booster. As with the second shot, I fell ill and spent an awful night in pain and shivers.

Damn, hope you feel better soon. I’ve had a bad day after every shot so far hence not looking forward to the booster (but hoping to get it done soon).

We are booked in for our booster (third) shot in a couple of weeks.
We got in early and got Astra Zeneca shots for the first too, and it seems we lucked out. Apparently it gives better protection against Omicron than the other shots.

In the "Beware of what you wish for" dept. Our right-leaning govt. delayed locking down "to keep the economy going". Unfortunately, this allowed so many employees to get sick that businesses are closing down because they have no staff... Also, up to 25% of hospital staff are off either isolated or sick.

Will get my 3rd shot of the the Pfizer vaccin after the holidays.
No problems last times.
Except my tattooed Wolf was little ? to get the shot right in his eye both times.

Perhaps I should get a target with cross hairs tattooed on my upper arm, given that 'they' are now saying we should be getting two or three booster shots a year, now.

In spite of spending 7 years in Med School learning anatomy and other things, doctors apparently don't learn where the veins are in your upper forearm. Never, never, never get a resident (aka intern) to take blood. Get a nurse to do it. You will have fewer holes in your arm. I speak as one who took blood for a hematology dept. for a while.

My stomach has been unsettling for two days, or so. What’s on my mind is why? Actually not 100% sure what I have eaten to cause this unease, unless it is a form of mental stress (heavily thinking through a few issues currently).

While I am certainly pro-Vax, I am kind of disturbed by these side effects, especially if we’re supposed to get boosters every six months. Being so sick every six months can’t be healthy on the body and I am starting to wonder about long term consequences. Still think it’s worth it, but the questions arise.

Currently, I work as an IT Contractor. A few weeks ago, I interviewed for a position at a large Cooperation, and had 2 interviews, with 3 different people.

New years Eve, i.e. today - LOL, I decline the position.

I feel rather weird about it. But, when certain things just don't add up, or make you continuously think about things, then, one has to pass. So, I did just that...

My colleague who passed away in February and her husband today is on my mind. I’m sure it will be especially tough on him today.
I get this completely.

My cousin who died recently - and his family - have been on my mind, as has my mother, whose death also occurred in December.
Got my Moderna booster. As with the second shot, I fell ill and spent an awful night in pain and shivers.

I very cleverly - a burst of inspiration, or, rather, the lure of pure convenience - got the flu vaccine and the Moderna booster at the same time.

Was wrecked for days.
Did you take paracetamol? I forgot with my booster and wish I had. Still I was fine the next day.
Guess who also forgot (despite brothers recommending it?)

Well that makes me feel better for being so stupid and forgetting!

My wife and I grew up in a country where you got lots of vaccines (triple antigen, cholera, BCG, smallpox, polio, tetanus boosters) as young people. Both of us had minor effects from the first COVID shot and virtually nothing from the second.
I wonder if having lots of vaccines when young gives your body a better ability to tolerate a new one?

I think everyone is different. I've had different reactions from all three jabs.

Anyway bed is on my mind now. See you all next year. Hope its a good one for you all.
