I hate the 'focus stealing' behaviour of some apps when starting up, e.g. Microsoft Teams and the JetBrains apps. I usually launch the apps using Alfred and immediately worked in another window, usually a terminal. The focus will change while I am typing, and if I am unlucky (or lucky) enough, I would end up sending the command to my colleague in a chat. Thankfully I did not use command or alias like rm colleague_name -gtfo.

Is there a real-life version of that command?

Love how meditation shift just about everything exactly when we need it.
Challenges arise and it can feel just like that a moment.
We address it through meditation and after awhile.....a new universe shows itself.

Well, this is about almost any skills we continuously practice actually.
Like finding new software we didn't knew existed, or learning to using some we have in surprisingly new ways.
Learning new things, what a bliss to be human.
Maybe cats feel the same way, in finding new ways to catch their prey 💕

Wondering why in America, an insurance company or hospital, can send you an invoice almost 18 months or so, after they provided service? Honestly, not the sort of invoice we wanted to see right now...

3 people I know have died in the last couple of weeks so questioning how unpredictable life can be.
Wow, yes life is unpredictable for sure.

Good news on my end, our fall group of study abroad students have all got negative covid tests (required by the US sending schools though no longer required by Swiss authorities). Still a relief.

Yeah, billing in the medical field sucks.

On my mind are the bills, energy bills particularly. Already paying over 4 grand a year, I hope it doesn’t go up by the 80% the price cap was just increased by…… cannot possibly afford it.

Yes, unpredictable maybe, but sometimes also full of meaning. We never truly lose the people we deeply have connected with, is my experience. But to get to that point we have to let go of what was, the loss, grieve their death, and actually what of ourselves that died with them too. It’s an unknown journey that depends on many factors. Everybody’s grieving and transformation is so different too.
Just want to mention that their is always purpose behind things that might take some time to realize for us small little humans walking on this planet a bit lost not knowing so very much about all mysteries in the universes.

I lost my mother when I was 10. We were very very close. My upbringing and spiritual evolvement speeded up tremendously, of her departure from the physical plane. Fortunately she made my upbringing very financially secure at least when she couldn’t be around.
But 10 yrs later I died too!
Had a strong NDE and was dead awhile before returning with a awakened but very confused consciousness.
I definitely knew Mom was not dead beyond all doubts after being 'dead/left my own physical' vehicle awhile and had quite an adventure.
Death shows us, or at least can show us, a much deeper insight of life, and our relationships. The quality of us and maybe a deeper meaning within relations. Life is so much larger than us.

Believe it or not, today I have a very aware, spiritual but very unpredictable connection with what was my 'Mom' that never stops to amaze me and gives me many liberating laughters.

I'm currently paying £395 a month. Madness.

The Greek composer Vangelis, of Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire and 1492 Conquest of a Paradise among many many other amazing musical pieces, has died. He gave a soundtrack to many of my years. RIP.

Many great songs agreed. RIP.

This is sad news. Loved his music and one of the great soundtrack composers. RIP.

He composed some gorgeous music -- definitely a gifted musician and composer.

Yes, he was a gifted musician to be sure. When I was in college/med school I was working for a film production company that produced the TV ads for the Gallo Wine company. Hal Riney had the account and he was the voice over in the ads. One of them was done around the time Princess Diana got married. It showed vignettes of various wedding celebrations. The soundtrack was made by Vangelis. Beautiful music for sure for especially for a wedding. Good ol' days of using Eastman 5247, Harrison contrast filters, and Arri BL 35mm cameras. I was lucky to be the camera man, Steve Burcham did editing/lighting, and a bunch more, etc. Long live Vangelis music.

Very sorry to learn this; he composed some really gorgeous music, and some superb soundtracks.

I must say that I loved his music.

I'm a bit late to the discussion. I loved Vangelis' music. I listened to it growing up and still listen to something of his almost each day.

Here's a simple track I recorded in honour of him using some of my favourite sounds he was famous for. I'm just a hobbyist and am not even close to having a fraction of his talent so it's a bit rough around the edges.

Had a good laugh at a job ad reposted somewhere online for Latin instructor requiring they must be a "native Latin speaker." Yeah, good luck with that.
