I've decided I don't want to go on a Titanic Sight Seeing sub. If condolences are in order I'll offer them. 🙁 Listened to a sub expert who said "the sub is an experimental vehicle, not even made out of steel, but fiberglass. I'd never go on it." The report on NPR said that you walk into this adventure with eyes wide open, taking your life in your hands, death is mentioned 3 times on the first page of the disclaimer, in a laundry list of ways you can die. A comparison was made with the space shuttle where it goes from 1 atmosphere to 0 atmospheres, this sub goes from 1 to 400. I'll fess up, never ever did I consider this. 😳

Anyway, I am with you I have happy memories of the "subs" at Disneyland in California I went to as a kid and building my USS Thomas Jefferson "transparent" model kit. That's it for me.

Tooth-ache can be agonising; I remember suffering from occasional (and excruciating) pain from an impacted wisdom tooth (subsequently removed in an operation).

Cloves, and clove oil are excellent for alleviating (not curing) the pain of tooth-ache.

However, for a more permanent remedy, I would recommend that you pay a visit to your dentist.

Thanks for the tip 🙂 And yeah, tooth pain is the worst. I was able to get an appointment today at 11am so I'm relieved. Also, I found that taking 600mg of advil seems to work pretty well for pain alleviation, however this is far from a long term solution.

I'm at work with a nasty toothache that's been on and off for a week, and is the result of my not going to the dentist for years. I have some high level pain killers which ironically make me feel nothing at all except the pain. How is it that my arms and legs can be completely numb yet my tooth pain is more evident than ever. Sick cruel world.

The dentist might be a good option before it turns into a medical crisis. 🤔

It'll now be really interesting to see if this spreads further, I have to say I personally would be surprised if this was a coincidence. In the reports I've read the yachties concerned appear to have been really shaken by the encounters. (Let's hope they don't teach lobsters, crabs and shellfish these sort of tricks or I'm going to be in real trouble.)

Orca attacks? Hmmm....I'm about to head to the local marina to spend some time on a boat today. Fortunately we won't be in Orca infested waters.....as far as I know anyway.

The wind off the ocean is still pretty chilly, never mind the "summer" solstice suggesting there will be summer weather, so I'll be taking what passes for local winter solstice attire with me.

I have experienced mosquitoes biting through clothing that I had thought was more than adequately thick.

For me, this is one of those asymmetrical relationships.

Hot, can't sleep, uncomfortable all day (and look ridiculous in shorts), flies and other insects attacking me, headaches, Met office issuing health warnings due to the heat and then TV weather men saying "good" weather.... I could go on. No, not a summer person at all. Have always hated it.

Coldest late Spring/early summer period that I can remember. We should be around 80 degrees during the day and most days we're not even hitting 70. Nights should be in the 50's and we're often in the 40's. No wildfire smoke as yet as it is all to the east of us. Perfect weather!

Actually, to my mind, for a musician, wearing black pants and a white shirt is a classic combo, and will always look well.

Several years ago, accompanied by my mother, I attended a concert where the legendary Mavis Staples graced us with her presence.

Needless to say, the music was superb, the concert excellent, Mavis Staples herself wonderful, and gracious, gifted and dignified, but I was also impressed by the classy appearance of the musicians; they were all attired in dark suits and white shirts, and I thought it looked exceedingly elegant.

So the inevitable result happened, what we all expected.

Seems the banging wasn't from the sub after all. Condolences to all affected.

Meanwhile last week several hundred people drowned in the Mediterranean as well.

It’s sad, but from what I read incredibly dangerous what they were doing. I mean submarines are pretty dangerous at the best of times. But an experimental craft at those depths? Madness it was ever offered to the public.

Totally agree. I don't think I'd even get in it on dry land. The thought of being locked in terrifies me. Very sad though.

Personally I think the story got far too much coverage. Some rich people made reckless decisions and spent a fortune.
Meantime more people drowned trying to escape tyranny and persecution which at best, the odd boat was sent on a rescue mission. Much sadder.

I get really annoyed by the people on social media who say stuff like "I know this is inappropriate, but I'm going to post it anyway." Why would you do such a thing? If you know it's hurtful or inappropriate, just don't post it
