I would not expect that until they release the larger iMac. If they do a monitor, it would likely be based on the iMac screen and design.erm what about the affordable Apple monitor with all the ports including ethernet ?
I have a 2016 MacBook with a single USB-C port that's seen almost daily usage for over 5 years and that USB-C port is fine. This is a non-issue.The big thing is the return of MagSafe as the USB-C ports are just too fragile for plugging and unplugging the cable for charging. I got a MagSafe like USB cable and it has been working very well.
In addition to reintroducing ports, the MacBook Pro models are expected to do away with the Touch Bar that's been used since 2016.
The assumption is that the USB-C ports will be unchanged so you can charge via USB or MagSafe. I have big dogs and mag safe saves my old MBP several times each week. It’s literally a necessity for me.I have a 2016 MacBook with a single USB-C port that's seen almost daily usage for over 5 years and that USB-C port is fine. This is a non-issue.
Magsafe has disadvantages, it means I can only charge from one side, I have to bring a separate charging cable for my device. I don't think Apple needs to bring back MagSafe for its laptops. Same for HDMI, between docks and Airplay I really don't have any use for it.
An SD card slot is definitely useful though.
You do understand that this is a “rumors” site. Until products are actually released, all we have to go on are rumors. Sometimes those rumors are accurate and sometimes they aren’t. This is not editors getting facts wrong. Why anyone would believe or entertain anything MacRumors, AppleInsider, 9to5Mac or any other outlet writes after the largest botch of writing articles of what Apple devices will be designed like or what new devices will feature spec wise is beyond me.
For almost a year readers endured articles that pushed baseless claims of designs etc, to only be proving wrong. You all are an absolute desperate joke!
Editors ought to be fired!
Dude, MR is an entertainment site. Endured??? LOL!Why anyone would believe or entertain anything MacRumors, AppleInsider, 9to5Mac or any other outlet writes after the largest botch of writing articles of what Apple devices will be designed like or what new devices will feature spec wise is beyond me.

Don’t rely on it too much. Might end up like Apple Watch Series 7![]()
Apple MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 details revealed in leaked schematics
Leaked schematics have seemingly confirmed details about Apple's upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The pair will mark the return of MagSafe for MacBooks, along with the HDMI port and a full-sized SD card slot. The Touch Bar has made way as part of a revised keyboard layout, though.www.notebookcheck.net
Confirmed specs so far...
1. Magsafe
2. HDMI port
3. SD Card slot
4. No Touch Bar.
5. New design.
I came into the comments to post this. Exclusively using the old MagSafe connector for charging is a regression. A USB-C cable with MagSafe-like fast release functionality is more appealing.I'm "okay" with magsafe but I love that I can plug just one usb-c cable in from my monitor to charge and also utilize said monitor. I hope I can still charge through usb-c if I want to. Just yet another cable to lug around. I was down to two cables (thanks iPhone and Airpods Lightning port) and I don't want to go back to to three (iPad cable).
…or I saw the corrected version. You know what they say about making ignorant assumptions, right? 😀A macrumors editor already replied to me that was a mistake and the image has been corrected.
You apparently don’t know the difference between usb A and HDMI
eeh, after all you're on MR here, so of course they will disappoint most of the folks here ...Pro Apple Silicon is so overdue now that it has become a joke. These products better not disappoint.
Please don't.Bring back the 12” MacBook!
You mean the 24" iMac? /serm what about the affordable Apple monitor with all the ports including ethernet ?
