…or I saw the corrected version. You know what they say about making ignorant assumptions, right? 😀
Neither the previous second picture or the current second picture showed an HDMI port on it. So my point about you not understanding what HDMI looks like remains valid.

I don’t regret my M1 Mac Mini purchase in the least. It works great, just as expected. However I’m glad to see that they still might offer a higher end version. The Mini is a fantastic form factor and I’m happy to see Apple give it some love.

Based on the iPhone and Watch event, as well as reading all these rumors, let me share what will REALLY happen at the second Fall event.

MacBook Pros come in an amazing new color, M1 16 inch Pros, and EarPods Gen 3 are now Graphite. See ya in 2022!

The guessers were mostly wrong about WWDC and the September event, they obviously don’t have a clue. Their credibility is zero in my opinion since they are wrong way more often than they are correct. And MR has also lost any credibility it had left because it continues to give these nobody guessers and BS leakers have a platform.

Parts of this rumor make no sense to me:
  1. Why not release larger iMac with the 2nd gen Apple Silicon (M1X or M2)? The point of Apple Silicon is that it's the same system-on-a-chip across multiple models. Additionally, it would be best for Apple to sell the updated iMac in time for holiday shopping.
  2. Apple already revealed their new design aesthetic in the M1-based iMac: colors, less tapering, corners more square. I expect that the newest laptops - the best sellers in the Mac product line - will have a similar design aesthetic, at least on the consumer (non-Pro) side.
  3. No mention of more RAM for the 2nd generation of Apple Silicon? This seems to be the biggest current professional limitation for Apple Silicon.
Completely agree. This is so overdue. Like almost a triple-tech-cycle.

about point 3. I created a thread about that and basically it seems like it will be the largest bottleneck

Is the M1 GPU sharing LPDDR4 RAM going to be enough?

I used to think the same thing, but I’ve come to believe Apple must introduce Pro models with an upgraded processor to differentiate them from the regular machines. However, that upgrade may just be a graphics upgrade and more RAM. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 12 and/or 16 core CPU. But I suspect a more iterative upgrade for the Pros this year than what people are expecting.

I hope you’re right. I’m still going to upgrade, even if that’s all it is because I’m using old equipment. it sucks to know that I’m buying an inferior (but less annoying to use compared to a PC) “Pro” machine for my company.

For someone old enough to remember how laughable owning an Apple product used to be back in the day, and then how their popularity skyrocketed after the release of iTunes and iPods, it just sucks to see the innovation nearly grind to a halt and that similar sentiment come back again. They don’t appear to want to push a boundary and seem pretty complacent with their status.

Apple is now like a poorly loosing football team going into the 4th quarter, or a morbidly bloated whale beached on shore. All it takes is one MAJOR innovation by another company OR a drastically overhauled Android UI to crush Apple.

Yeah I’ve given up on keeping up with rumors. The last two shows, 85% of the rumors predicted never happened. We’re in an on going transition with M-series. We’re in a chip crisis. It’s going to be baby steps for another year or so. That’s my rumor prediction.

And?
Sounds like you’d have been happier with an M1 MBP, as the M1X chips were not ready for the 16”.

Strange that’s characterized as a joke.

The entire point is that there’s no M1 16-inch.

I've often wonderd if the next BIG thing will be eyewear.
Very little chance, maby some will use it on summers if its also sunglasses ^^
they need to make AR on phones 1000 times better than now to even have anything to use ar glasses for

I have a 2016 MacBook with a single USB-C port that's seen almost daily usage for over 5 years and that USB-C port is fine. This is a non-issue.
If the a Single UBB port is enough for you thats fine. But this is a PRO laptop. I would like HDMI and SD and Magsafe. I like to use less dongles and I like magnetic charging.

We're expecting a second fall event to be held in either October or November, and this event will likely focus on Macs. Below, we've highlighted the products that are still rumored to be launching before the end of 2021.

M1X Mac Mini

Apple is working on a high-end version of the Mac mini that features a revamped design, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said in August that a new mini would come in the "next several months."

The high-end Mac mini is expected to replace the Intel Mac mini that Apple is still selling, and it will likely be offered alongside the M1 Mac mini introduced last year.

  • Mac Pro - Apple is developing two versions of the Mac Pro, one of which will feature a redesigned chassis that's smaller in size. The new Mac Pro models will feature high-end Apple silicon chip options with 20 or 40 computing cores, made up of 6 high-performance or 32 high-performance cores and four or eight high-efficiency cores. We don't yet know when the new Mac Pro models are coming.
Conceivably the high-end Mac mini and the smaller Mac Pro are the same machine:

Mac Mini Pro <=> Mac Pro Mini

It depends on what options are offered.

I would not be too optimistic about Apple releasing a revised MacBook Pro 14/16 in the near future ("soon"). It looks like they are more interested in extending their real estate portfolio and developing smaller lifestyle products, like key ring tracers, watches and their mobile phone line. They definitely have enough funding and manpower, but just not the will to inspire their more 'serious' laptop computer clientele.
