I'm always surprised at how many people want better battery life. Of course it's always welcome but don't people have power at work or at home or in the car? Even the cafes I go to have power. Unless you're hiking all day or something why is it so crucial? Just curious, not arguing.

Unfortunately every power plug at my work needs to have been tested, and tagged.

Definitely screen size. 3.5" is tiny, anything over 4" will be welcomed.

As for design I think Steve was right about the iPhone 4, it really is beautifully constructed. Usually I don't buy into his spin on products, but Jony Ive and his team came up with a cracker.

I hope they just tweak this design and not radically alter it.

Who else thnks the mute button should toggle up and down vertically on the side as oppose to forward and back? I find it hard to toggle it forward to unmute.

(good god this is my first time typing on macrumors with an iPhone. It's so slow. Is it the site or the keyboard? My goodness. The irony)

Yeah, no plastic. But curves. Give me the curves!

Yeah the iPhone is honestly terrible to hold and type with. My hands get strained after a while.

I voted bigger screen only because I want a drastically different form factor. I've owned both the 4 and 4S so I'm ready for the phone to look and feel different and the screen is almost the whole device so a bigger screen would def push a different design. Edge to edge screen would be awesome too.

Bigger screen with less bezel. I would like to see LTE, but without sacrificing battery life. I would take the marginal difference in less battery life like the new iPad has seen.

A larger display & form factor is inevitable just to accomodate the larger battery that will be needed to power the A6 & LTE chips. Exactly how much larger, who knows? I would expect 4" - 4.3" with the actual size based on keeping the screen "retina".
Apple cannot take another battery hit as they did for the 4s. Those who really (I mean REALLY) use the 4s thoughout a 16 hour day are using battery cases anyway. I drain a Mophie Juice Pack + and about 10% of my 4s battery during a typical day. My younger (and caseless) 4s co-workers are searching for a power outlet by 3 PM. A decent battery in a larger form factor will allow the heavy users to ditch our Juice Packs and keep a form factor no worse that the current 4s/Juice pack combo.

I like the design of this one. Add LTE/4G & faster processor & maybe more ram :) screen size is perfect for me!

Ergonomics wise, the iPhone 4/4S could possibly the worse designed phone. My hand cramps when holding or typing on it for any prolonged period of time.

I like the current screen size, I mean it's okay for me, I'm not one who thinks its unusably small. But ideally, I'd like to see a slightly larger screen, anywhere up to 4", but without a significantly larger body. I think they could easily do this by using stretching the screen to the edges, as now there are large chunks of non-screen space on the face.

Relocate the Home button to the outside [ left or right ], and stretch the screen all the way down [ easily making it 4-4.5" ]

This will keep the same physical size while squeezing in a larger screen [ which most of us want now.. I assume! ] Add a xenon flash to the camera, and up the RAM to 1GB, if possible!

Other than that, the hardware is pretty much solid now! I would really like a UI re-design of iOS 6 over a crazy [ drastic ] hardware change!

These changes are very feasible, IMO. :)

All new form factor (hardware and software). The design was revolutionary five years ago. Now its tired and getting very dull. They can't use the same general design indefinitely.

The price... :p

How so? I would like the price to increase so the iPhone becomes more exclusive. Every Tom, Dick, Harry and primary school kid has an iPhone these days.

I've always thought Apple should have the iPhone and the iPhone Pro.

I'm gonna say the screen size and form factor isn't much of an issue with me. I would love to have 4G LTE with minimal loss of battery life and iOS 6 that to me is much more important.

Besides, it sucks having to buy all new accessories and what nots. Yeah, I'm a cheapskate.

I'm pretty happy hardware wise. All my issues with the iPhone are software/iOS related.

That's not to say I wouldn't take a better flash, because I would, but most of the things that could do with improvement aren't that flashy - better battery, faster electronic compass, faster storage memory (that last one would make a much bigger everyday performance difference than anything else at this point).

lets hope they keep the same design. this is the best iphone ever. just make the screen a little bit bigger. just a little bit, not like the big monster phones they sell these days for the people with big fingers. :(

User replaceable battery...
Yes, I definitely would like better battery life, but in lieu of that (or maybe in addition to that), an easy way for the user to replace the battery would be a good thing.

I think the should include Dictation in all iOS 6 devices. Not Siri, don't get me wrong Siri would be nice but they're not gonna do that. They added dictation to Mountain Lion, why not iOS 6?

larger screen (4.3") which will also allow more space for a larger capacity battery (at least 1800 mAh)

I was about to write something along those lines... I didnt put larger screen in poll because it did not clarify how it would be larger... So i chose Battery, I want LTE as long as the battery allows me to leave it on at all times.
