My iBook for free, got it for my birthday when I was 9!

Also my refurb first gen iPod Nano was just £50, I got in instead of the new one so I could mod it :D

For me, it'd have to be:

Thinkpad, worth $600

Toshiba laptop, worth $150

and $140 for my 2.2GHz Blackbook. Almost brand new.

Total value: $890:D

My iPod, hands down.

Here's how it happened: My dad came home from work last year, pulled his Crown Victoria in behind my car, and inched up so close he ended up rear-ending my bumper - nothing structurally that bad, but it left a neat horizontal crease lengthwise down my otherwise immaculate white car (my first car too!).

Since it wasn't technically that big a deal, he gave me his iPod instead of paying for the fix. Which worked out great, because by the next morning it had popped mostly back out anyway. He moved up to the 80GB model anyways so he's happy too.

Everybody wins!

Daamn, nice dad!

a rip-off computer.

na, joking. I got a macbook at "recommended retail price" as you know how reluctant these apple sellers are to give discounts.

so I paid the full price for the computer, but I got 2x iPod nano with about 15-20% off each, RAM upped to 4GB for free and 2x OS X leopard T-shirts also free.

another rip-off is my iphone. woohoo, as I don't live in the US, so I dunno how stuff is sold there. on the apple site, they've advertised "399$ for 8GB iphone". ok, so I thought it was really 399usd. well I was wrong. it ended up adding another 8.5% Californian tax. woohoo.
