Mx1000

I've had 2 Logitech mice. First a MX700 and now the MX1000, love them both. The 1000 is better with battery meter but while it has a better battery live it's built in unlike the 700 which uses 2x AA so can be replaced at any time.

I love it mainly because of all the buttons and with USB Overdrive they can be customized for different aps.

What I want now is a good bluetooth mouse for a laptop, but with the same buttons.

I just got the deathaddler, its awesome. Great for photoshop, etc. and a great gaming mouse for windows also.

Looks nice, feels nice... but otherwise I disagree. Without the drivers it is a skippy mess. With the drivers it has 5 profiles, but none of them bind to an application. You know like when you want ONE set of buttons for photoshop and a different one for World of Warcraft? I couldn't find a way to do that, and I looked very carefully.

How about updating the firmware? You can't do it mac-side. You have to do it on a windows machine... not sure if dual boot will work or not. Guessing it might.

I also discovered that you can't bind function keys to the buttons. You can set it up that way, it appears to accept the setting but then it simply doesn't work. (As of 10.5.5) I called tech support on this and they apologized and said to watch the web for an update. I think I'll take it back to the store instead, thanks.

Depends on hand size, weight preference, how you hold your mouse, and how you use the mouse

I prefer wired Logitech mouse
Currently using MX400

The old, basic Microsoft optical mouse is/ was best. Right size, weight, number of buttons, and a good wheel.

I had a Mighty Mouse, and had to throw it in the bin in the end. The ball jammed and needed cleaning all the time, and then one of the buttons broke. Frankly, the hidden button thing is just rubbish - you can't tell what you're pressing so have to use the edge of the mouse all the time.

One day, I hope, Apple is finally going to come up with a decent mouse. I mean, it's only, er, 26ish years since Steve J pinched the whole WIMP thing from Xerox....

One of my favs still, I'm using one on one computer, the 5 button optical.
They just don't seem to last forever.

What I just don't get used to are the now common right hand only mice, with the side buttons all being on the left.
I'm a righty, but play the occasional game with the mouse in my left hand, and generally feel much more comfortable with buttons on each side.

So my main mouse is an ancient Logitech MX 310 with USB Overdrive.
