yes, picked it up yesterday. for about 4 hours round trip on subways and buses and $4.50 in fare it was def worth saving the $200. mbpro was the way to go. thanks for everyone's help and for turning me on to microcenter!
You a such a good deal compared to what you were originally looking at since the 2011's are about 2x more powerful. You can speed that up by getting a faster drive and more RAM down the road. Of course more RAM is only useful if you are doing intensive tasks which for myself is heavy Photoshop /Aperture editing. It takes about 10 minutes to update the RAM yourself without hurting the warranty.
MC is a great store which I learned about last year from threads like this. The real bonus was the low tax at that location. I have returned there to buy other things as a result of that.
Enjoy your new MBP it is a wonderful machine which benchmarks faster than my 2010 15" MBP and roughly 2x faster than the base 2010 13"
