The MIME Feather Glass also has a hardness of 9H and is only 0.15mm. The Spigen Glas.tR nano is 8H-9H and is 0.23mm. The iloome flex is 8H and is 0.12mm. All of these get very good reviews and I've seen some pretty impressive You Tube videos. That XGear looks good but at $58 is a lot more $ than the others. Also, it is 0.65mm thick. Even with the beveled edges that has got to be very noticeable and may have issues with some cases.

I am sure that they all look the same to the naked eye, but there are different levels of hardness (Mohs scale) depending upon which type of hardened or tempered glass you buy.

I am certainly not an expert, but "glass is glass" somewhat oversimplifies things, don't you think?

Somewhat unrelated to OP:

What I find interesting is Sapphire glass. This is just under diamond on the hardness scale. Apple recently purchased GT Advanced, who will be building a sapphire glass plant in AZ. The video on how they make it is interesting. I bet this will be used more for screens and possibly the iWatch!

Certainly not "cheapest", but so far toughest protector - http://www.amazon.com/XGear-IP4-KRY-Krystal-Sapphire-Protector/dp/B00D8NHUR2

Yes it is oversimplified, but there is only so much that can be done to a half millimeter piece of glass cut into the shape of a phone. Over 10 bucks for these things is an outrageous mark up.

My only thing is people are paying for packaging and the extra stuff included in the box, that's it.

I used to pay $58 for tempered glass until I ordered one for $6 and couldn't tell a difference. Same clarity, same quality. Only difference was one was name brand and one wasn't.

Then I searched online and people were having the exact same experience http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...tempered-glass-note-3-warning-kinda-long.html

Just trying to pass the savings on to others.

That is good information. Just goes to show, you don't always get what you pay for. Thanks!

I personally like the Sir Lancelot HolyGrail only because it is so easy to install. The only sticky part is the matching border. I can also make my white phone (face) black, and vice versa. They guarantee and I am actually waiting for a replacement now.

(Sorry if I took things off topic.)

I just bought the "Explosion Proof" Glass screen protector from eBay for £4 inc delivery.

It's boxed and even has the round edges like the GlassTR. Cant be bad for £4.

I've had four different brands of glass protectors in front of me. Once they're out of the packaging and placed side by side, you can't tell a difference.

Only difference is thickness as I have already stated.

Does not account for usage wear, clarity, quality.

Yawn

Sure keep telling yourself that.

I'm not just talking, here's a fraction of what I have on hand.
