So what's the deal with this new fashion trend of guys wearing tight pants? I see them all the time now, these young guys wearing jeans so tight they look painful. Why is that cool? How can it be comfortable? Don't get me wrong, I hate baggy jeans falling off the hips too but this makes all the guy seem homosexual. Not that there is anything wrong with that per say but clearly most of them are not. Is this a Jonas brothers thing?

Not exactly new as it was in fashion in the 60's and 70's. Though I don't understand it as it makes carrying a Wallet, Cell Phone, Keys, Lighter and Cigs uncomfortable. All the sharp angled square bulges also look odd.

I don't really see how it looks gay. The most awesome rock stars ever wore tight pants, so did Chuck Norris and Burt Reynolds.

I myself like well fitted jeans. That are just loose enough to carry the items mentioned above and manage to stick my hands in my pockets.

I think it looks ridiculous. I'm still in my 20s, and I wear either straight leg jeans or bootcut. I can't stand anything skinnier than straight-leg. Besides, the "look" is such a fad, and as "alternative" as this look was suppose to be, most people who actually went for this look is just a follower of a trend, and apparently, there are a LOT of trend followers.

The great news is that it appears this trend is on its last legs, and will die off very soon. The other good news is that the guys who wore skinny jeans may have lowered their sperm count so that their poor taste likely won't influence the kids that they would have had if they just wore something sensible.

I hate tight pants, especially those stupid jeans. It comes across as pretentious and self-indulgent. Plus, the people who shouldn't wear them are always the people who do. Ain't nothin' worse than a male muffin top.

They're a fashion don't.

I too think these look ridiculous.

I'm all for allowing people to wear what they want but the problem is when manufacturers think thats what EVERYONE wants and so thats all they make. I have a real hard time clothes shopping for normal clothes anymore :(

I remember at work a few years ago when these things came out a kid at work wore them to work and as soon as he walked in the door everyone started laughing because they honestly thought he was wearing girls jeans. He was desperately trying to tell everyone they were "skinny leg" jeans but everyone kept laughing and making fun of him so bad that the manager made him go home and change.

Even though that whole scenario was technicially wrong it was funny.

I wear super tight jeans so the ladies can see how big my wang is* :D

*accentuated with a roll of quarters

I hate tight pants/jeans, except for compression shorts/tights, I wear them for running or horse back riding.

I think it's because girls think they look sexy on guys, my fiancee always tell me to try on tight pants/jeans, but I tell her to **** off in a nice way. :p:D

We are looking for suits for our wedding. I'm a pretty skinny guy and looking at slim fitted suits because regular suits is way too wide for me, even a 36. Of course, only designer suits come slim fitted and they are NOT cheap, which is fine if I like it and I don't have enough suits for work. I try on the suit and it's perfect like tailor made. Try on the pants and they are way too tight and skinny legs.:mad:

I'm sorry but when your chuck norris, you can wear pink panties and no one will question. The tight jeans of the 70s were fine because they were bell bottoms. Hell, I can even understand wearing tight jeans ( booty jeans ) for the ladies. I wouldn't wear them but ok. The jeans I'm talking about are skin tight down to the ankles. They look really stupid. Yeah maybe if your a rock star they look fine. I have rock stars with green pink hair and it works for them. If your a full grown man with form fitting jeans and pink/green hair, you have problems.

My wife thinks it looks gay. That's just her opinion though. Maybe there are some ladies out there that like them.

On another note, one less important, what's the deal with name brand clothes. My wife is a tiny thing. She's 5 foot 100 pounds and often shops at Holister and it works for her. They sell some decent surfer clothes etc, but nothing that will fitna grown adult male size. I have the same problem at other youngish clothing stores. I'm 5"10 210 pounds and I'm not fat. I can find a shirt or pants that fit. What's the deal? I feel like I'm stuck shopping at maceys and kohls.

They're called "skinny jeans" I wear them, but I'm kind of a punk skater type of person.. but it's becoming a real fashion trend among teenagers and college students and skaters, I for once feel them much flexible, than the time I wore levis 501 original jeans I hated them, they were baggy and really not cool......now I get the levies 511 skinny jeans...:D

Plus my female friends tell me I look "dope" :D and "hot"

So skinny jeans FTW

My ass looks amazing in skin-tight pants, but there is no amount of money anyone could pay me to wear a pair. It looks hideous.

I go for straight-leg or a bit of figure.

I hate them because I have big thighs and can't wear anything tighter than a straight leg and even those are a bit tight on the thighs sometimes - just 2 weeks back I had to buy a looser fitting jean than I was hoping for. Some guys really can pull it off with the tight fit if they're not too clean cut looking, though the younger guys at it just look fresh faced and emo, but different generation so not for me to criticise them on dress. Tight jeans can defo look cool though with the right pair of boots..

Equally I avoid wearing bootcut jeans now - I don't see many people wear them now - they're a bit.. gimpy because they've been the typical goto jean for so long. Maybe someone with a bit of fashion acumen can explain better why they're unpopular at the moment.

Anyone into Japanese denim? Raw selvedge lovers?

Dude it looks weird to us older folk and I'm not really old at all. I wonder when the day will come when I see some young couple fighting over the same pair of tight jeans. :D Imo sometimes just because something looks good, doesn't mean you should wear it. I mean for example, I look great in just a pair of boxers but I tend to get weird looks when I fetch the mail in them.

On another note, how hard is it carrying your phones in your pocket?

Not very. Things get difficult with an erection though.

With those tight pants, we have all noticed. Ahaha! :(

On a non penis response, how could it be comfortable? I mean my iPhone and keys bother the chit out of me with regular pants. Yikes!

Haha! I respect the older folks for not wearing them... I'll be honest, unless I'm not carrying some 15 bills that make $40 bucks and quarters in my wallet, the wallet fits perfect. For an iPhone or blackberry curve, it fits in perfect but anything that is fatter than an iPhone really is tough:eek:

I know that skinny jeans aren't the norm in society today, but imagine we lived in a world were everybody wears skinny jeans, and people all of a sudden want to wear baggy regular jeans, then we would probably be bugging them for showing off their boxers and underwear and baggy style.

I recommend watching a 1950s version of the twilight zone called "beauty is in the eye of the beholder";)

It basically tells us who are we to decide what is beautiful or not? When we are the ones in charge... does the individual shape society or does society shape the individual? Hmm..

I remember that episode and how ugly that girl was when she woke up from surgery. I mean what was with that nose right?

The baggy jeans are horrible. I am not sure what is worse though. On one hand I see someone's boxers and on the other hand, I see someone's butt pretty much. I have actually told people to pull their pants up in public. I am a white guy that isn't afraid to confront a group of brothas for showing ass cleavage.

Haha.....naw...I think you got the wrong episode....it's about this white chick who wakes up with bandages around her head and she is afraid of what she might look like. I would expect she was a monster, yet she ends being a Marilyn Monroe at the end, but is screaming because the entire world are a bunch of pig nose people and she is segregated into a different world due to her looks...and the pig people think she is ugly....when in reality I viewed the pig people as freaks!!! Haha....

But with the baggy jeans, haha been there....done that... Especially when 14 year old kids are bagging and their parents tell them to lift their pants:eek:

No no no she was the freak with her weird looking straight nose and everyone else was normal. Hog nose? Pig people? They looked normal to me. ;)

Uh.....what?

They are the norm. Around 6 months ago, I went to buy a pair of jeans, and over the selection were skinny jeans. That left a few straight legand bootcut styles, and I didn't like them.

Instead, I went for a pair of brown corduroys --- boot cut. They're narrow, but not skin tight or anything.
