Buena Vista Social Club - Buena Vista Social Club

Thought this would help get me in the mood seeing as I'm off to Cuba next year :D

Awesome album. Amazing musicians - and excellently recorded as well...

Dandy Warhols - Earth to The Dandy Warhols

Not their best, not their worst. Some tracks are pretty horrific, but there's a few there that make the album ok, I'd love to see them get back to the "Come Down" style.

Megadeth - United Abominations

Great album. It's funny to see Megadeth continually put out great albums that have not compromised their sound at all while Metallica (who kicked Mustaine out of course) are scrambling to put out another album that is actually accepted by anyone as being at least decent.

Slipknot - All Hope is Gone

You probably either love or hate Slipknot. I fall into the former category. While I may not exactly love every single song, they put out some pretty consistent albums. In particular the song "Psychosocial" just rocks my world in so many different ways. :D

As previously mentioned "Risk" was not exactly a high point in Megadeth's discography and you can't honestly say that "Countdown to Extinction" (what many believe to be their 'sell out' album) or "Youthanasia" have the same sound as "So Far, So Good... So What!" or "Rust in Peace". "Cryptic Writings" had a few tracks I really liked, but IMO, it wasn't until "The World Needs a Hero" that Megadeth started to get back to its 'old school' sound. Of course a band can experiment w/their sound w/o selling out. I'd rather see a band trying something new and have it be 'meh' than to have them churn out the same thing album after album. As long as the band is honest w/themselves and creates the music they want to create they haven't sold out, IMO.

An excellent soundtrack to compliment an excellent film, can't wait for Quantum of Solace on 31/10 :)

Also 13 songs by Fugazi

Although I do prefer the original A tout le monde that was on Youthanasia.
