The iPhone 6 will be 4.7 inches. That said, I just got a 5.5 inch Android phone (I love the iPhone but need a big screen due to vision issues) and my iPad is still just as useful as it was before. Here is a pic of my LG G3 (5.5 inch screen) and my iPad Air.

Reinforces for me that the 5.5" iPhone 6 and an updated iPad (Air 2 I reckon) is just perfect for me.

It would really take something to move my off my iPad. It was good enough to move me from my desktop PC (and my other half from her laptop 95% of the time!)

Stupid thread

What a stupid statement to start this thread. First of all I don't want a big iphone 4.7 will do fine for me. So my ipad 9.7 is four times the size. Why that should make it useless is bemusing. Head back to samsung mate.

Photographers who use their iPad in their workflow would probably disagree given the CCK's only work with an iPad and not the iPhone.

With iOS being almost exactly the same with nothing to really set the iPad apart, what's the point of an iPad when the 5.5" iPhone comes out? Even more hilarious is how useless the iPad mini will look next to it

Uh.

It's a 9.7" screen?

I have a Note 3 which is 5,7" and I am tempted to buy an iPad Mini when it's updated. My use case for it will be magazine/news reader and portable video player. The Note 3 is great in many ways but I really prefer something larger when it comes to reading longer texts.
My point is, the gap in screen size between the largest iPhone and smallest iPad is still large enough to keep them as useful companions.

Late, but I also have a note 3 and just got an rMini and love the combo. Came from an Air and prefer the rMini still. I want an iP6L though

I don't think there's any question that a 5.5 inch phone would cannibalize iPad mini sales. But as is evident on this thread, the iPad mini still fills a very sizeable niche.

Well.

1. iPad has many iPad exclusive apps.

2. iPad is bigger.

3. Many apps that are on both have a better design on iPad. Pages is an example. Who arranges a document for school or work with a smartphone?

4. Even more comfortable reading on a 7.9 inch or 9.7 inch screen than a 5.5 inch screen.
