What's the quickest way to buy Leopard?

why exactly do you HAVE to have it ASAP? if you dont mind me asking....

i can slightly understand for a product like iPhone, or iPod Touch.... but for an OS? sure, i am ready to check it out... but i just dont get the MUST HAVE IT attitude.

Yeah, I said that same thing...until I saw it available for pre-order.

Others are right, it's almost as if you'll be upgrading your computer, so it's much more useful than a device (in my eyes).

Besides, the thrill of discovery is where it's at.

Well the interesting this is about this pre-order is that although I did select standard shipping, it says "Priority Overnite" shipping in my order status. Perhaps that's why we *should* be getting Leopard on the 26th.

Looks like Apple is actually rushing it out to us. That's a good thing.

I just looked at the Amazon UK website and it says that the estimated dispatch date for Leopard once you put it in your basket and choose express delivery is 24th October. has anybody ordered from Amazon and think that it will arrive by 26th? Thanks!

When I bought Tiger through Apple I got it the evening before the release.
So I ordered online again...here's hoping iGet it early!

I ordered online for Tiger, but wasn't lucky enough to get it early.

This year, I'm going to an Apple store.

This is how I figure it: Despite claims here with posters claiming to "know" when things will be shipped and delivered, Leopard will definitely be in Apple Stores starting at 6pm on Friday.

I'm playing the safe bet this year and going to my Apple store. Plus, I may get a T-Shirt.

That sounds like the safest bet. I think I get very quick delivery here in L.A.

Amazon is cheaper but you have to wait. Apple is full rate, but, free shipping and delivery on the 26th.

Amazon advertises they will ship it on the 26th yet they give me an estimate ship date of the 31st and a delivery date of Nov. 1st.

Just to clarify, can you only buy leopard from UK Apple stores from 6pm on Friday or is it all day? Just wondering because some people seem to be suggesting all day and others including the Apple site seem to say that the launch is between 6-8pm so therfore you can only buy it after 6pm??? Well, if it's released at 6pm at Apple Stores, I'm betting you'll be able to buy it after 6pm at Apple Stores, just like every other OS release has been.

As far as I know, in the physical stores it's 6 pm local time wherever you are. I don't think London will be different. If you pre-order, then sometimes you get it delivered earlier in the day. Some people have even gotten theirs a day early in the past.

Has anybody ordered leopard on Amazon UK because I was thinking about doing it and it says dispatch of item 24th October so with next day delivery (ie. express delivery) that would mean that you would get it on the 25th. Does anybody know if this is actually the case and has anybody ordered leopard in this way??? Thanks.
