That history is missing a piece. Although it is in the same forum the last major competition was the 5,000,000 post Avatar contest.

Five Million Post Avatar Contest - Winners and Gallery


As far as I am aware there are no immediate plans to have a contest.

There have been a few mumblings regarding this in Site and forum feedback namely

7 million posts approaching...

We are currently approaching 7,400,000 posts and 680,000 threads with 300,000 members. I suspect that there will be a competition when get to 10,000,000 posts which at the current rate is about 460 days away.

Ideas are always welcome and you never know if you come up with a good one it may come sooner.

What did I do?

You were the first to suggest that the Rule 1 flags depended on letters in usernames. If you don't think you were deserving of honorable mention, your punishment will be having to read the Ninebows puzzle thread at gamedev. (The MacRumors discussion about it was here.) I think more people got puzzle-induced headaches from that puzzle than from any other!
