What's this thing in middle of screen

Lately I notice there's this scrolling icon right in the middle of the screen for no apparent reason. Its active and keep scrolling. What's that?

I just realised when I closed the iMovie, it disappeared. I'm not doing anything about iMovie although there were some projects previously done but remain untouched for several days already.

Why is this scrolling thing link to iMovie?

Do you shut down or log off regularly? If not, that could have been from a session in iMovie from long ago. 😕

I left the iMovie open but didn't do anything for a long period of time. Anyway, after i shut down, its ok now.
