How about a place to SAVE FILES?

There are so many work files I need to access on a regular basis... Excel files that are schedules, marketing documentation, etc.

The work around (that I haven't used but could) is to send yourself email to a gmail or yahoo account and save it into a folder other than inbox). 1. That's a hassle. 2. It only works when you have Internet access.

pro tools... i am pretty sure my iphone has more power than the first mac i used to run pro tools back in the day.

i know right

did you see that app that would let you control pro tools with your iphone
it looks pretty rad.

and i think it would be cool to have like a iphone version of photoshop hehe
maybe thats a really far fetched thing

but something like ms paint or something maybe

My dream app = WiFi Router. And, if my suspicion is correct, a hack that maintains charging when a 3G connection is active. I'm still building my tinfoil hat on that one...

The ability to track where your device is via location services or something like that. Just in case your iphone gets stolen, you'll know exactly where it's at. Then hopefully you can get it back on way or another.

Shortcuts!

I'd love to see a basic "Shortcuts" app (i.e. with a shortcut to turn on/off bluetooth, 3G, etc.)

A version of Mille Bornes would be good, too :)

One of my dream apps is one that works as a checkbook and a budget system. You can manage checking/saving/credit and other accounts, as well as set a budget for week/monthly expenses. There are various apps that have some features, but I haven't found an app that has all that I need. Ideally you'd be able to take any new deposit into an account and, in the budget section, divide up a percentage of the money to each category. Then, when you spend moeny from the account later, you mark where the money was actually spent.

Most of my suggestions are not really apps at all but add functionality (maybe they're more like drivers).

- Bluetooth or wired (dock) keyboard support

- Copy and paste

- Ability to act as a USB hard drive that mounts on a desktop (mac or pc) with no extra software required

These are things that I had (and used frequently) with my old Palm Lifedrive that I would love to have with the iPhone.

Get BossPrefs.

My dream app is a powerful file manager, like MobileFinder was back in the day with 1.1.2. Right now the only one is iCommander, and honestly it sucks. No copy/cut/paste, no delete, no launching apps. All it is really is a file browser. I heard that with 2.0 MobileFinder needs a complete rewrite, and that's why it's taking so long to come out.

A baseball scorers book. Parents and coaches would use it at scholastic games, and many baseball fans still like to keep their own book at pro games.

voice dialing, something that can enable vibrate when Dialing a number on the key pad, a foobar remote app :], copy and paste.

I would like a music app that can tune into Serius and XM stations and scrobble that info to Last.fm!

And while I'm dreaming, how about an app that randomly dumps cash into my bank account. :D

Missing: The most basic app

The most obvious missing app is an ATT coverage map.

If you travel around town, or across country, can you expect coverage at your destination? Can you head down the block, or down the road to pick up a decent signal? How useful would an app be that can actually map area coverage.

Of course ATT should provide such a basic app but alas it's ATT. The functionality of their interactive coverage map on their website is circa 1995. These (JAVA?) maps don't load on an iphone Safari.

What do you think?

my dream app

I found it yesterday: ColdBeer. Poor look but it works obvisious and might be an eyecatcher next BBQ season. But favorite still SignalScope.

This app was a year old, why revive it ??

You have a great app idea but no programming skills. Now what?

We are pleased to announce NewAppIdea.com (https://www.newappidea.com). NewAppIdea.com is a meeting place where people with new app ideas but no programming skills can meet and hire expert app developers.

After reading article-upon-article about people turning their app ideas into app store success stories, we became frustrated with our inability to find a qualified developer to turn our own app idea into a reality. We also sensed that we were not the only people out there with great ideas and searching for app developers. From that experience NewAppIdea.com was born.

There’s no cost for those with app ideas or app developers to become members of the NewAppIdea.com community. Users simply post their app ideas on NewAppIdea.com, app developers bid on the opportunity to develop those ideas, and users can pick and choose which developer they want to hire to create their apps.

Sim Ant for iPhone Please!

When I was in middle school in the early 90's, I used to love to play Sim Ant during my lunch breaks, on a (now dinosaur) Mac, that my math teacher had in his classroom. I have been researching if this game is still playable in any format and the results are not good. I do not have an old Mac, nor would I buy one just to play this game. With so many iPhone games being developed, has no one thought to revive this classic? Is there a licensing issue that is halting development? Can no one present the idea to Maxis and get this going for the iPhone? I would buy it and so would others from the amount of postings about the game that I have found online. Let's go app developers! Sim Ant fans are waiting!
