Physician,

Not sure just what type though.

It was anesthesiologist for a lot of years, then I worked in the ER and saw a lot of traumatic injuries and that made me very interested in General Surgery.

Then I started volunteering in the local homeless medical clinic and started to think that something like internal medicine would be good too, if I went that route I'd like to go into infectious disease control.

Now I've been researching in a neurobiology lab for the past year. The PI hired me because I had some good background with Salt Water Fish tank systems and an interest in Biology. We're funded for doing Electrophysiology on Anuran auditory neurons which is pretty sweet, but I was hired to work mainly on a little side project that he's got running with some of the spare grant money. It's studying sex dimorphism in wrasses, and there's a huge neurological connection there since the sex change is entirely determined by the social situation that the fishes are in. He's essentially handed the entire project over to me and I've decided to combine the behavioral studies and community manipulations that they'd been running for the past few years with some endocrine work. It's really made me want to look into endocrinology as a result since I'm blown away with what I've been able to do.

Either way, I want to go into medicine.

I just have 1 dream:

NBA.

But I wouldn't mind playing professional basketball anywhere.

I would be happy in the D-League too lol

Being anything at Apple, you name it..

I just wanna work at Apple. I dreamed of this over years, still dreaming.. Being in Cupertino, working 20+ hours-a-day for the "next big thing", getting yelled by Steve all the time..

I always wanted to be a studio musician

I'd love one of those production jobs where you have the big production mixer board in front of you and know how to make a classical concert record nicely. Work at like the Sydney Opera House, or for a big film studio for Danny Elfman or Rachel Portman or something..

What a nice way to introduce myself!

I'm pretty much doing it now! I'm a Mainframe Computer Operator.

I wanted to be a programmer after I got my degree but I never got the proper breaks. It's been so long since I programed anything beyond VCR's that I'd have to go back to school and start learn Basic all over again. I can handle the JCL glitches that turn up every single day at work, but don't ask me how to program anything in Perl, Ruby or any of the new languages that have evolved since I used the GI Bill to put myself through college in the early 1980's. My subscription to Dr. Dobbs journal expired over 20 years ago.

I've owned an :apple: ][ in 1981, and was the 4th to upgrade to GS the store had. And until 2 years ago when its Shadow Hard Drive finally died, my GS worked on anything and everything I asked it to. Granted at work I had to use IMB PC's at work, to include accessing the Intranet as well as the Internet. Finally, last month I finally was able to get an Mac. I've been wanting to get a Mac ever since 1984, money always being the biggest stopper, my GS still going strong a very good second.

I hope this place helps me with my Mac. I've been wanting to get a Mac for such a long time. I already have questions about it. So far they have to do with backing up the hard drives. There is still a huge set of differences between the computers I work with, what I was able to do with my :apple: and what I want to do with my Mac. I hope people here have patience with what I know are going to be Stupid Questions.

There're a very few (very few) members who are impatient and testy. Otherwise we'll answer any question you have - how to turn your Mac on to how to ask your Admired One out on a date.

Welcome!

Always wanted to work in healthcare, now i am about to enter Physician Assistant school.

However if I was to do it all again it would be business related, I have a pretty good business acumen and seem to easily turn a buck. Possibly it could be a mechanic. I love fixing things and working on my vehicle.
