Physician,
Not sure just what type though.
It was anesthesiologist for a lot of years, then I worked in the ER and saw a lot of traumatic injuries and that made me very interested in General Surgery.
Then I started volunteering in the local homeless medical clinic and started to think that something like internal medicine would be good too, if I went that route I'd like to go into infectious disease control.
Now I've been researching in a neurobiology lab for the past year. The PI hired me because I had some good background with Salt Water Fish tank systems and an interest in Biology. We're funded for doing Electrophysiology on Anuran auditory neurons which is pretty sweet, but I was hired to work mainly on a little side project that he's got running with some of the spare grant money. It's studying sex dimorphism in wrasses, and there's a huge neurological connection there since the sex change is entirely determined by the social situation that the fishes are in. He's essentially handed the entire project over to me and I've decided to combine the behavioral studies and community manipulations that they'd been running for the past few years with some endocrine work. It's really made me want to look into endocrinology as a result since I'm blown away with what I've been able to do.
Either way, I want to go into medicine.
