I would also vote for cashews, almonds, brazils, peanuts, pistachios, walnuts...actually, any nut except for hazelnut. In spite of liking almost all nuts, for some reason I can't stand hazelnuts. Weird.
The fact that Brazil nuts can only be harvested in un-spoiled rainforest is a plus for ecos -- the more economy that natural products from the rainforest can sustain, the less rainforest gets burned and plowed under for sugarcane and other cash crops.
Cashews are members of the Anacardium family along with poison sumac. and poison ivy. They are plantation grown, so are less eco-friendly. The shells contain toxic acids and can cause dermatitis among workers who handle the nuts. (A Little League in Pennsylvania sold bags of cashews in 1992 as a fundraiser - the nuts were poorly processed in Mozambique and had shell fragments along with the cashews. 54 people got poison-ivy rash on their lips

Yeah, I had a few friends over on Sunday and there was an assortment of nuts, chips, dips, etc for snacks to go with teh large amount of alcohol we were consuming and I was hte only one eating the pine nuts. So I got to asking my friens what nuts they enjoyed - so I though I would get the MR community take on things as well.
I was expecting MACadamia to be hte most popular...

Actually, that's the name of my first Mac, a PowerMac 7600 (still in service). My other Macs are Coconut and Pumpkin (kind of nutlike). My 3rd-gen iPod is Ginkgo, described as a silvery/white nut, and my 4th-gen color iPod was Hazelnut (hazel being a color). Sadly, Hazelnut was abducted a couple months ago, so Ginkgo is back in service.
Oh, and my internal domain name for all the computers around the house is inter.nut (outside it's the internet, in here, it's the internut!).

Probably pistachio. But almonds and cashews are right up there. I think Macadamia are a bit overrated myself. Don't get me wrong, they are good, but definitely not the best.
I am a very generic person. I'm pretty partial to peanuts. Nice and salty.
There's another one I like. I don't know the real name for them, and I know for a fact that the name I call them by is a southern thing. I know that it's going to get starred out, but I've always called them ****** toes (derogatory name for black people). What are they really called? Anyone know what I'm talking about? They're kinda big.
