Without taking John Williams into account, mine is probably Gladiator. I would start my study sessions in uni by listening to it and it always got me in the right frame of mind to learn. Great soundtrack.

Some great ones mentioned already!

Because it's the season, I gotta add A Charlie Brown Christmas' soundtrack by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. Amazing. Warms my heart and puts a smile on my face every single time I hear it.

These are simply highly "listenable" soundtracks. They're good, and they don't grow old. Depending upon the genre, they either rock or scare me. And they're largely genuine scores, not just existing pop music collected into a soundtrack.

If we were talkin' TV albums I could give you a bunch more.

Big Hans Zimmer and Clint Mansell fan.

Clint Mansell:

John Williams:

Danny Elfman:

Sleepy Hollow
The Corpse Bride

Harry Gregson-Williams:
Kingdom of Heaven

Martin O'Donnell/Stephen Rippy:
All of the Halo soundtracks

Jon Brion:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Nicholas Hooper:
Harry Potter: The Half Blood Prince

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross:

The Boat that Rocked and 24 Hour Party People fo sho!

Enemy of the State's OST is brilliant too. I absolutely love the melody and the Coal Yard part 2 themes. Very powerful/inspirational stuff.

The Truman Show is also good. But one track, Dreaming of Fiji, when that song played in the film I was just blown away. It fits so well with that scene, everything combined for that one scene.

Lord of the Rings. Love it.

Now games... that's a bigger bucket of fish. But anything by Huelsbeck, Michiru Yamane, Allister Brimble, Masato Nakamura, Kondo, Nobuo Uematsu will probably be 5 stars in my iTunes library.

I loved that score but I just wish the tracks were longer than 2 minutes :(

Memoirs of a Geisha
Braveheart

Karate Kid 2
Dances with Wolves
Clockwork Orange
Tron 1 (wendy carlos)
Anything John Williams especially Superman

Big fan of the Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind soundtrack and movie. I think they both just compliment each other so well. That movie would not have been the same without that soundtrack.
