Since the new iPad has a gorgeous retina display that is capable of playing some nice 1080p videos but slow Internet makes this impossible to enjoy, I was wondering how fast is your home Internet speed?

bobalou?

you mean my ipads lte speed? or my home connections?
my ipad gets 50 mbps down :) 30 mbps up :)
my home connections, timewarner wideband gets 60 mbps down and only 5 mbps up :(

Slower Internet speed makes watching hi-res videos a hassle because it takes forever. My home Internet is only 3mbps, it sucks.

20/5 from Comcast. But for some reason, my ipad and iphone get way less than that using speedtest. My imac sees the full speeds.

1.5mbps up 250kbps down, when it works.
As you can tell, Netflix is sooo much fun to watch. :p

PS: I have AT&T

Also have ATT but at 18/1.5

IPad wifi will pull 29mbps on Dad's Comcast, so its wifi chip will at least do that. Thats on a 5GHz N network. My guess the other poster is on a G network which will top out around 20mbps.

Well the people at att said I can only have 1.5mbps. Funny, considering I live ten minutes from a downtown of a quite large city (The Apple Stores there)

:(. I think we like Comcrap better

I pay Charter Cable for 25 down and 3 up. That's the quickest speeds I can get from them at home.

25MBps/25MBps from Verizon FiOS, which I'm able to get when I do speedtests. I originally had 15/5 when I first had it installed but a month later went into my account online and changed to 25/25, it was a $15 difference (then). A couple months ago I wanted to see how much it would cost to go to the next level of speed. I do a lot of streaming, but my speed was perfectly fine; I just wanted more! Haha. But, the prices have definitely increased! My 25/25 plan is a lot more expensive and the 50/50(?) is ridiculous.

Since my speed was increased with no hardware change or anything at all to my place, does that mean FiOS has a pretty high maximum speed that's just being capped because of pricing?

Cox Cable
3MB/1.5MB
$39/mo

It's a ridiculous price and speed but Cox is the only player in my area and they know it. I lowered it from a faster connection because cox throttles the heck out of our service if I dare to download any file over 500MB (even when doing a Lion update or downloading an iTunes movie I got throttled to 50kb after 10 minutes) so my iPad definitely isn't taking advantage of high def content as often as Id like.

I have Time Warner. I get 16 up/ .98 down. And I pay them $48 a months. Sounds a little high to me.
