Unlimited on AT&T. And my usage tends to range from 1GB to 7GB. Only hit 7GB once when I had no WiFi. I usually hit about 2Gb-3GB every month.

Trust me. You want the 2 gb data plan. Even if you never think you will go over 200 mb, it's nice having that reassurance and not checking how much data you have left for the month. I tried saving money on my iPad by getting the 200 mb package but it just made me nervous. I'm going with the 2 gb on the 4S and canceling my iPad plan.

Att unlimited. The wife has it too. Out phone bill actually went down 20 bucks or do. Something to do with texting. I probably don't go over 2 gigs. I don't do much streaming really.

Unlimited

I use between 8gb and 11gb per month.

I don't spend all day streaming videos or anything but I check news often, maybe watch 2-3 games per week on my iPhone, etc....

I had unlimited, then gave it up for 4 GB tethering. Now I have unlimited back thanks to some kind of odd screw up on AT&T's end when I changed phone numbers.

I'm considering switching back to tethering again. It actually bugs me a bit that my MacBook can't communicate with my phone for internet when I might be out and about and need it.

I don't often stream things, just open web sites mainly.

ATT unlimited. Checking past trends, the most data I've used in any given month is about 1GB.

Most frequent app used is Pandora, I do stream movies/videos from time to time.

I did the same think with Verizon. I never used more that 2GB a month, so giving up the unlimited for tethering was a no brainer. Going to AT&T I am going with the 4GB with tethering. Streaming movies and music over 3G is just not something I am interested in.

My wife and I average ~500 MB per month of data. We have grandfathered unlimited plans from Verizon.

I work from home, so wireless data is not much of an issue since I am always near wi-fi. It will be interesting to see if my usage changes when the 4s arrives (I have an original Moto Droid atm).

Wow, you guys use a lot of data!

I've got 200MB on AT&T and I probably average around 150MB a month. I use wifi when I can (being at home, school, & work make up 75% of my time though) and don't stream music, but I do have e-mail and news pushed to my phone, app notifications, etc. Part of it is probably that AT&T service sucks where I live anyway. Hopefully the 4S will change that.

I lost my unlimited data when I switched away from AT&T also. When I switched back, they screwed up porting my number and I was able to get them to give me *back* unlimited data for my trouble. Can't believe I got away with that. :)

I'm holding onto my AT&T unlimited plan with a vengeance, even though I think the most I've ever downloaded in a month is about 850 MB. Usually it's about 200 MB, LOL.

But you never know when your usage patterns could change...or when a new use for data may arise.

^^ This, precisely. My max usage per month so far has probably not even hit your 200MB mark. Still worth it to me for potential value. The only way that would change is if they suddenly said ok all you unlimited data planners out there, stuff happens and now unlimited means 500MB so sue us. Then I would drop it like a hot potato asap. I don't sue, I don't sulk, I just bail.

$45 tethering plan. Gave up unlimited data, but unlimited data on an iPhone is really useless unless you can tether.

Went sprint and got unlimited with 450 mins. U can't beat sprints plans with a stick. Wonder how long they will keep these plans though.

Verizon customer but we still have an old Alltel SmartChoice Pack, which gives us unlimited data. It is on of the best plans out there. We are grandfathered in. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Total cost for two phones is $129.99, which is
500 minutes
Unlimited Data, both lines
Unlimited Messaging, both lines
Nights & Weekends at 7pm
10 Friends & Family Numbers

Hard to know which part of that is actually the data charge because the plan is billed as one bundle.

I cant tether (no jailbreaks here) , just use the netflix ect.... but our wifi stinks and is constantly not working, so that could be part of it. last month i used 7.5 gb month before that was 2.9, before that was 8.3 and june's was 9.7.
I havnt used less than 2 GB in any month, since getting the iphone 4 yet. even on the 3g I used over 2 gb. I dont know how people use less than 2 gb! maybe they dont watch videos or surf the web much.
oh and we use the att unlimited 30$ plan.

AT&T unlimited for $30.

I can't believe how many people gave up unlimited for $30 to switch to 2gb a month for $25 just to save $5.

Yeah, 2gb probably didn't seem like much then, but there are apps and features that we can't even imagine yet and they're going to make 2gb's of data a month go really fast and you're going to either choose a higher tiered plan and pay more than you would have for an unlimited plan had you kept it, or just not use your phone very much towards the end of your billing cycle.

I use between 1 and 5gb's a month just doing normal iPhone stuff.

I've saved $105 so far being on the 2GB and even the 200MB plan for a few months. Not regretting it at all.

Sadly, I don't think all those unlimited plan posts will help the OP pick a plan if he wants to go with at&t.

I'm actually on at&t's 200 MB plan cause 99% of the time I am using wifi. I had the unlimited plan, but dumped it cause throwing away $180 a year to at&t was not worth it for me. In the last year, I've only gone over the 200mb plan once and we were on a road trip that month.

Get the plan that works for your usage pattern.

That money you saved will most likely be spent in the future when you do go over your 2gb data allotment using apps that right now we can't even imagine yet.

Just cause you don't use 2gb a month now doesn't mean you won't always not use 2gb a month. Things change. Especially mobile broadband.
