We will just have to revisit this question next year.
Let's just say AT&T along with Sprint, Verizon, have all followed each other. $325-350 ETFs. Sprint and Verizon already getting rid of their 12 month upgrade.

Here is one of links about AT&T upgrade change (no more 12 months upgrades).

Again you get this one last upgrade (if eligible). But everyone will have to wait from now one.
This policy changed went into effect in the Spring 2011 as I stated.
I have been with AT&T for 5 years now and always paid on time. I will be a little frustrated with them if they decide that I can't upgrade after 12 months. I will be calling a manager and see if they won't at least waive it this one time for the iPhone5 when it comes out.
i see a mass carrier switching when the 5 comes out
i already plan to switch to verizon if the 5 is LTE (unless at&t has LTE in my area and somehow lets me upgrade cause ill miss my unlimited data but that's about it)
i'll sell my 4s for the price of a subsidized 5 and just eat the ETF (half by that point) works out the same financially cause if i wait for the "5s" I won't have an ETF but the 4s value will be down. and i miss out on the 5 in the meantime![]()
