WhatsApp is now available for iPad, Meta today announced.

iPad support comes more than 15 years after the messaging service launched. In September, Meta started beta testing WhatsApp for iPad via TestFlight.

WhatsApp allows users of the encrypted messaging platform to link up to four devices to their account even when their main smartphone is not connected to the internet. Each linked device connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted.

In addition to WhatsApp, Meta owns Facebook, Threads, and Instagram. There is an iPad app for Facebook, but the Threads app remains iPhone only. An Instagram app for the iPad is reportedly in the works.

WhatsApp for iPad is available to download from the App Store now.

I downloaded it and says it’s in beta!! Did I rush to download it and so they didn’t have time to upload the final version?
Maybe related to your region? It’s the same app as the iPhone app (version 2.25.16.81), but now also iPad-enabled.

The word 'Beta' in the tech industry now means 'Release', because it's cheaper for these multi billion pound companies to get users to test stuff for free :). And if there are any privacy leaks or f*ups then... oh well its in Beta.

I looked at it and it’s the same version. I don’t know why when I opened in the chat background said it’s in beta 🤷‍♂️
