I'm not on the TestFlight either, this is on my M1 base model. I'm swapping the M1 Pro for M2 Pro this week with Amazon so I don't remember which version was running on my 14"....
Have you tried restarting? That happened to me when I did the Time Machine to my M2 Pro.
Yes. Also, I am successfully using on the web version of it. For some reason it is not working on this native version.
Edit: So it worked if I signed out from the web version. I guess you cant have both, working on the stable and beta version together.
Oh that's curious, that's interesting because I have the web version open here on my work laptop with Arch Linux..
May be you signed into the web version after signing into the Beta version. Just thinking. I am not sure.
But the beta version is super light on the ram. The previous one was crazy. Using a couple of gigs of ram.
Then they couldn't complain. The same as the people who will put their ear up next to their Mac Studio and turn the room completely silent, wait til they hear any noise and then complain that it is noisy.
I cannot get into my account with the beta version - says connecting but no advance. Appstore Desktop version syncs fast

Tried again but no sync - qr code changes right at the beginning when trying to connect and then its stuck. Reinstalled Appstore Version - worked easy and fast

I am having the same issue. On one computer I got that it is expired and takes me to the appstore. Has the appstore version been updated?
This one does not work for me either. It crashes every time I try to scan the code from the phone.

They seem to be releasing new betas quite frequently. Following my most recent post above, there is already an updated beta. Now at Version 23.13 (492121588).
Not the most helpful advice unfortunately, but I'd just suggest to keep trying each updated Beta version until it works. Maybe try the Intel version as well - if the Intel version doesn't work then there might be an issue with your Whatsapp account.
For good measure - make sure you're on the latest Mac OS too (Ventura 13.4.1).

It is still crashing the moment I scan the code on my phone. I dont know whats wrong. Tried 4-5 latest versions.
Very frustrating. Sorry that cannot help. Only other suggestion would be to remove any other linked devices in whatsapp on your phone, and to ensure you have the latest whatsapp version on your phone (currently 2.23.13.80 on iPhone).
I have done all of that and even deleted all whatsapp related files and folders under Library. Re installed after that and it is creating an issue. I realised that it happened after I tried making a payment through Whatsapp. In India we can make payments through Whatsapp.
