Oh wow this again and already?? I was one of the holdouts waiting for this recent gen iMac it was a long grueling process. Good luck.lol

I want to get rid of the ones I bought last November and upgrade to the newer models.

I dont think I have enough patience for 2 moths. I think one is the most?

I am not familiar with any colloquialism about a couple of moths and their patience. Maybe you wanted to include some reference to a New York second? Was this merely a tongue-in-cheek troll?

I have to say, all in all, this post is very lousy satire. It really is not believable.

Unless, of course, your business model is to absorb depreciation for as many consumers as you can service with your cast-offs.

After enduring the wait for my late 2012 iMac, I would be mildly astonished if Apple has ANY product modification to the current iMac line-up during this calendar year.

WAIT.... Don't buy the new model coming this fall or whenever, there will be a new one coming out in 2015.....(Sheez)

Yes, it's costing me at least one additional hour every day in the office.
Like I said, I know it's insane to wait, but I simply can't make that purchase right now, it's a mental problem and I'm well aware of that.

But to my defense:
I have a friend who is an electrician. He once mounted a large set of wall plugs in a clients house and realized later (while lying in bed) that he installed one wall plug upside-down.
With upside-down I'm talking about the type and model no. written on the inside of the wall plug which you can never see unless you rip it off the wall. From the outside of course you can't tell a difference (there is no up or down) and who would ever want to take a plug of the wall to check what the manufacturer printed inside.
So he couldn't take it anymore and drove back to the client to turn that wall plug around, just so he can get some sleep because otherwise this little detail of imperfection would continue torturing his mind.

Somehow it's the same with me and Haswell around the corner. It doesn't make any sense but it will make me feel so much better ;)

I am the same way lol. As soon as the Iphone 5 came out I couldn't have the Iphone 4S anymore. I used to get strong anxiety attacks. Its very hard to explain. I would bite my tongue and blink my eyes a lot (twitching). I have applelophobia.

I am actually serious.

I have no choice

I don't to go on leave (which I applied for in April) until late November. So the new iMac should be out by then (hopefully). I will be traveling to the states to pick up mine and ship it out.

Rather than getting the 2012 I am waiting for the next model but I have a good reason. My credit card gives me 1% cash back but 5% over oct-dec. Since I normally budget 3K for a tweaked-out system that is an extra $120 for waiting a few months (not even counting what you could make if you used the 3k for a short-term CD/other investment while waiting). If it comes out after that time all bets are off but if they do not target back-to-school purchases they will DEFINITELY want the holiday ones.

I use my mac for work (graphic design office) and currently it dies on me nearly once a day (grey screen reboot message). It might be just a RAM issue but I'm sick of opening this thing up for another fix. I did so many times before since I upgraded RAM before, cleaned the internal fans etc. etc.
But you know what, I really want to - but I just can't. It's programmed deeply in my mind. If I buy something new it has to be the latest and best and most importantly "just out".
I just can't live with the fact that 2 month later there's an updated version of "my new thing". I know it's stupid but I want to have at least 6 month of that premium feeling that there's nothing better out there.
I waited ALL 2012 for a new iMac. The rumor mill said "refresh in Feb 2012, for sure". Then it was April. Then it was July. Then they said August. Eventually, it was October when they were announced, but you couldn't get them till November.
In the end, I bought a MacMini in preference.

You need a new iMac. The current machines are CRAZY fast. They are up to handling any task you can throw at them. If you need it for work: buy it. You probably won't need or use the extra power that the next model has.

I didn't see or hear of any news during the Sept annoucement. It is unlikely it will get an update this Fall??
