If the Google Pixel event messes up Apple's timing on the 19th, I wouldn't mind skipping the MBP event altogether and just doing a silent update on the website. :D The Apple marketing department may have a different opinion, though...

After reading that comment… This is Tim Cook’s reaction right now. He’s coming for your wallet, dude! Give up your Australian dollars for that Mac! 💻

If Microsoft can put 120hz in these terrible, ugly, battery guzzling machines, there is no reason why apple can't give us 120hz without affecting battery life, thanks to these super efficient, awesome M series chips. 🤨

product volume of 100k vs 10M ... slightly different challenge

The M1 MBA, MBP & Mini were launched in Nov 2020.
iMac Pro was Dec 2017.
Mac Pro released Dec 2019.

Maybe too soon to say its their final products for 2021? 🤷🏻‍♂️

it's looking like late October is when we'll see Apple's final products launching in 2021.

I seriously doubt they will make a product announcement 2 days before earnings call ... 4 days later, yep ... so, either Oct 19 or Nov 2 ... I'm very relaxed about this and enjoying my M1 MBA ...

Because Apple is all about saving money. They are trying to hit that 3 trillion dollar target. Apple is not bringing 120HZ anytime soon man, sorry.

Easy ... October 19th. Pre-orders on October 22nd. Release date October 29th. Invitation to be sent on Monday October 11th.

This is like a dreaded slow motion dream where you just can't make it to the door. The floor is slipping away under you like a conveyer belt. I wanted to replace my 2013 MBP four years ago, but the machines were bad. I hate the touch bar, that keyboard, etc. Then we learn M1 is coming, OK I'll wait for that, but turns out they were the low end ones. OK, I'll wait another year. Now we are here, but not really, maybe, maybe not. Ugh. Come on already!

So, there will be another iteration of the M series chips. I think Pro Motion will come to the iMac with the M2. That's what I think (the air is thin up here where I am pulling this out of thin air)! Meanwhile, my next new Mac that I get next year will compile code instantly! I will never have to wait for anything! All the M bugs will have been worked out! Wow! 🍸😹 all best and cheers!

Look at this legendary battery life, still have 47% left. 120hz is no problem for these M series chips.

I know you're reading this Tim Cook. 🧑‍💻

warever they release it! I need it, I'm a on macbook pro 15 2013, screaming for a upgrade.
I just expect a macbook pro 14 with no touchbar and apple monitor (with price for the masses), I bet I'm dreaming about the monitor but...
Same. My Macbook is on it's last leg. Constantly crashing and shutting off after heavy use. Just replaced the batter a month ago too.

Another poster pointed out that the second to last week of October coincides with the 30th anniversary of Apple notebooks (25th anniversary was acknowledged in the 2016 keynote). PowerBook 100 was unveiled on 10/21/91.

Invites on the 12th for an event on the 19th seem plausible OR to stagger with the Pixel press coverage they could do invites on the 13th/14th for an event on the 20th/21st - they have done both Wednesday and Thursday events in the past, though admittedly much less frequently than Tuesday events.

I don't think they'll do invites on the 19th for an event on the 26th, since that might get lost in the Pixel coverage... and invites on the 20th for an event on the 27th are out due to the earnings call. Damn, I just want to know so I can stop speculating.

Edit: You know what, I'm locking down. 10/14 invites for a 10/21 event, on the exact 30th anniversary of the PowerBook's unveiling. Well-placed after the Watch and Pixel launches and before the earnings call. Final answer.
