I'll post legitimately now. :)

I'm 28, and didn't start looking like an adult, really, until just a few years ago. Once I got a few subtle lines on my face, people stopped assuming I was 18. I'm blessed with good skin and hair that probly won't go grey until I'm 60, so those little character lines go a loooong way.

Quoting myself from 3 years back...

I'm 21.

If I shave I look like I'm 14.

If I don't, I look like I'm 14 and trying to look older - and failing miserably.
...and not much has changed. I'm 24 now and still look like a teenager if I shave, and I still don't grow enough facial hair to bother with a beard or anything. I'm okay with it..

...i mean like when did your faces and form appear like it stays until you get really old (over 60)...

Spoken like a true 18 year old... so young... so naive.

You should keep this question and revisit it in 30-40 years.

I'm sure it will give you a chuckle.

I've got a weird face or something. I could buy alcohol when I was 15 because I was tall and had facial hair, yet my school buds still called me baby face. I don't look 24 now but I keep a bit of facial hair so I don't look like a kid.

My girlfriend has it bad. She's 24 as well but was asked by a pub landlord the other day if she wouldn't mind leaving because she looked underage. Discrimination or something!

I have had a heavy beard since I was about 16, yet people are still surprised when I tell them my age. I always thought that heavy beard made me look older, especially when I was in my late teens. I also tend to see every gray hair I have, but I guess in reality, they aren't that noticeable.

A few years ago, my gf at the time was very small, and very youthful looking. The was 25 or so, but looked younger. I always joked that I felt like I was robbing the cradle or something, since it looked like I was dating a 17 year old. She never believed me until she got carded when we were trying to get into an R rated movie. I felt vindicated.

I'm 29, married for four years and have a kid and I still don't look like an adult. People regularly think I'm 5 years younger than I am and I still get people who think I've just graduated high school even though I graduated college with my BS 5 years ago. Oh well, it'll be nice when I'm 80 and look 60.

Now that I have a semi fully growing beard (still can't quite get a goatee going) I haven't found myself being ID'd. Guess that makes me look like an adult. I sure as hell don't feel like one though.

I am 25 and still don't look like an adult. My father says I look like 18 years old. But I tell myself: when I am 40, I will look like 30 and date a girl who is 20. :D - so it can have positives.

When I cut my shoulder length hair and started exercising enough to put some muscle bulk on. Age 23.

At 21, the waiter/bartender always does a double take at me when they see my license picture circa early 2004. I look 12 instead of 15 in that picture. At least I get a new license in a few months.

late-20s is when I started noticing that some bouncers didn't card me

You won't really know if you look "young" for your age until you are well into your 30s. Many young looking people I knew in their 20s got their greys then or lost some hair (or both) which can do a lot to age a person.

It's rare when you meet the 40 year old who still gets carded. :)

^^ glad you're back around :)

I was told I could pass for 18 when I was 14 or so. Now that I'm actually close to 18, I wonder what I look like now. :p

That's kind of how it was with me; When I was fifteen or sixteen, people told me all the time I looked like 19 or 20. When I turned 20, they started telling me I look like I was fifteen. No joke. Weird.

This is good. When you want to look older and get respect, it's good to look 19 or 20. But after 21, believe me, you want to get carded as long as possible.

Wait for your ten year high school reunion if you have not already. People who looked great will all show some age. But others will look like they aged 15 or 20 years in that ten.

And then there is the 20th reunion. That will be downright scary. Look young if you have any control over it (less alcohol, no cigarettes, take a low stress job/career even if it means less money, drink plenty of water and vegetables, and lots of sleep). Almost to the T, the ones who were wildly successful had the most wrinkles, the least hair, and the most gray. It was no secret that part of that success was used along with alcohol, cigarettes, and lack of sleep. (Dr. Daniel Amen, MD, tv talk show host).

I used to think it was all about genetics, but how you treat yourself plays a large role.

I'm 16 and still look like a young'n. People say I talk like i'm older, and look like i'm younger.

I guess i'll have a baby face for a while, considering my genetics. My almost 40 year old mum gets carded when buying booze.

Bugger :p

I love how a three year old thread just picks up where it left off. :D

I was able to get booze when I was 16, so I guess that's when I really started to look like an adult. But now in my 40s, I think I look better than in my 20s. I love the way I look now, and apparently so do the people I date. So who cares? :)

I didn't look like adult for awhile; hell I've gotten away with using child bus tickets until I was 16. At 21, I once got carded to get into a AA movie (14 and over). I'd probably say around 24 or 25, since they didn't card me at the bar or Beer Store/LCBO after that.

When I was 25, I was mistaken for about 18 more than once. Even now I get shocked responses when I tell people that I'm 27.

When I was 15 people would mistake me for 19-20. My face matured rapidly and I was my full height (6'3") at 15.
