I first used a Mac in 2nd grade, once. It was my friend's comptuer and we played game on it.
In 3rd grade my teacher set me and two other students up with a Mac Classic (running System 6.0.2) and hypercard to control a LaserDisc presentation about Japan.
In 4th grade, I broke my right arm and couldn't write with my left hand, so I was allowed to use the classroom Mac Classic to do my schoolwork. That was when I learned about writing math problems horizontally, as vertical was nearly impossible.
In 5th grade, I started using a Classic II to create informational packages for my teacher, who had a hard time using ClarisWorks. I also used an LCII in Computer Club to dial into a BBS and play a Dome Wars like game.
In 7th Grade I was in a computer club using LC575s to create HyperCard Games, and in computer classes used them to create animations.
In 8th Grade I started using PM5200/LC to create movies on Avid Cinema.
In 9th Grade I learned how to teardown and rebuild Macs, convinced me that my next comptuer would be a Mac.
I was given a PowerBook G4 500 when I graduated from High School, replaced it with a 667(DVI) in 2006, and am looking forward to getting a new Mac either this year or next.

First time using Mac's was at college in 2001-3. Used OS 9 running on PowerMac's and OS X running on eMac's. Hated the Mac experience then. Crashed a lot and they tended to be incompatible with PC... for instance, the Mac would rename all file names (of work I done on a PC) with upper case letters which was especially annoying for web design work.

Stuck to Windows for the next few year and would only touch a Mac if I was hitting it with a stick!

Started using Mac's again at uni in 2006 and by this time I was disillusioned with MS. Didn't really hate XP but did hate what I saw of Vista... the UI is awful and couldn't imagine working in it so I switched to Mac.

Back in the mid to late 80's there were a bunch of Apples in the computer lab in grade school. I don't remember if they were Macintosh or not. They did have mice. The Apples had replaced the Commodore 64's that we started with in the lab.

One of my friends eventually got a IIgs which floored me with it's graphics and "coolness." I was merely stuck with a Commodore 64 at home (but it had all the best games). Around 1991/1992, I received my first Apple...a Macintosh IIsi which had System 7. But I'm hazy on what version. I remember being really excited about System 7.6, though, and installing it on there. I had the IIsi through college and put Windowblinds on it to mimic OS 8/9. Got my Pismo in 2000 and only had OS 9.2.2 on there. I didn't go to OSX until I bought my Core Duo iMac in 2006 (10.4).

I bought my first mac in 2003 (a Macintosh Classic, System 6) However, that was just a toy to play around with, since my school at the time had a lot of machines with System 7 and I felt right at home with System 6.

I really switched in December 2006, when I received a Mac mini for a gift.

I always liked Macs because they looked really fun and different, but I didn't officially use one until I went to high school and used an iMac G5 for a research task. That's when I fell in love with Mac :D. It was simple to use and the design of it was so cool, so I brought a MacBook :).

Started at age 10.

Powermac 7300 (166Mhz)
Powermac G3 (233Mhz)
Powerbook G3 Pismo (500Mhz)
Powermac G4 Sawtooth (400Mhz)
Powermac G4 Quicksilver (733Mhz)
Macbook Santa Rosa (2.2Ghz)

My sister got her first iMac running 8.6 in 1998, which was our family's first Mac, though I still pretty much used the PC until mid-2004 when I fixed up my other sister's iMac that had a diamond necklace drop through the holes in the top.

Now, there are more Macs in our house than I can count.

To make a short story long...

I learned how to type in Middle school (6 grade) on a macintosh

Then I went to PC's once I got a computer... I never asked why I never remembered apple.

About 2 years ago I started thinking I would like to get an apple.. I have used a "mighty blue" before and I liked it..

about a week ago I purchased my first mac computer and macbook

right before christmas I got a taste of mac when I bought my iTouch..

I am forever hooked and will not buy another PC again lol

unfortunatly I still own a compaq, I work at a job that uses PC's and my computer at work is a windows 98' PC.. what a POS..

I've switched to Mac in the very end of December 2007. So it's about 1 month of my Mac Era. :) Now I've got 2 in 1 (PC+Mac), because I run Windows on my Mac thru Parallels and enjoy it much because I have an opportunity to run some Windows apps that I get used to. I also have an opportunity to play PC-games on my Mac (In most cases I use BootCamp for gaming).
Well, it's great! ;)

I used my first Mac, the original, back in 1984 for my job. I ran a project managment software on it, and also played MS Flight Simulator on it after hours -- Lots of fun!

Then I built my first PC back in 1994 and used that for a while. It was fun buying all the parts, selecting the case and all, the trials and tribulations of adding the drivers and software I needed. But ultimately I couldn't get exited about using it. Running games and other software was fun and useful, but I didn't enjoy actually using the OS.

Then, in 1996 I bought my own first Mac! It was a Power PC 7600 (iirc) at 120 mhz. From that moment on I was hooked. I believe it ran System either system 6 or 7 when I bought it. Next I bought a PB 1400, to bring to work and use as an adjunct for the 7600. In 2000 I bought a PB G3 Pismo, and as soon as the Betas were available for OSX, I loaded it onto the G3. Being a Unix SysAdmin in a Sun/Solaris environment, I was able to use the PB G3 at work and I didn't even need to have a Sun machine at my desk!

When it became unix based AND stable enough (10.2).

Before that, I used Linux and Solaris, with a little Windows thrown in every once in a while.
