Well they missed back to school. My classes start on Monday. I don't see anything happening in the immediate future. So, I'm hoping for Christmas. My student loan money will be waiting.

It's hard to imagine what Apple may or may not do with the iMac. All in one desktops have been dead for years. Only the influence of Apple has kept the iMac alive. It's a testimony to the following they've developed.

If not for Retina Madness, I'd say a new iMac is not far off. But now that Apples convinced the greater majority that anything less is wildly inferior, a non Retina iMac will be a very hard sell.

The price for a Retina display the size of an iMac is certainly expensive, far more of an increase than the market will bear. That's the challenge as I see it. It would be great to be wrong, since I'd hate to see the iMac go away. I have no interest in one, but the more computers in the lineup the better.

i'd love to be an Apple hater right about now. This secrecy and unsureness is killing me. I need a new computer but I know I will go buy one the next one will release in 15 days.

What if this supposed September 12th event is for the Mac?

New redesigned iMac with cues from the Retina MacBook Pro in regard to all flash storage, a new screen technology (sans retina), new cooling, new audio and microphones, etc.

New redesigned 13" Retina MacBook Pro which is basically a smaller 15".

Updated Mac Mini with flash storage options that are more affordable/standard.

And then October is for the iDevices and iOS

They would fool a lot of people with this. The October event could be iOS6, then iPods, then iPhone, and then the one last thing could be the new iPad Mini.

One can only wish!
:D

Oh I'd be so happy... *Daydreams*

Never

Sorry, but in my opinion Apple will not release an IVY bridge iMac. At least not in it's current form. I think Apple is modifying it's entire desktop line and will offer few surprises. This is due to the fact that a huge number of professionals left Apple and the company name is heart really bad. i mean all the major players started to move away from Apple after FCPX and the results are started to show up. They finally realized that they need a sub 1500$ upgradable machine. Back in the G3-G4 times, this was the case. I think will see few new design/specs towers/desktops and some under 1000 all-in-one. My 2 cents.....;)

That would make sense because their main revenue is from iPhones, iPads, iPods, laptops so it wouldn't hurt their business model to create an upgradable desktop computer.

I'm thinking that we'll see the iPhone, iPod touch, and possibly iPod Nano on Sept. 12th.

That leaves the iMac, 13" Retina MBP, and iPad Mini for October.
