I wonder if it's best to avoid early batches and wait a bit?

My early iPhone 6s suffered from screen leakage and a sticking home button caused by a manufacturing defect.

Sure, Apple sorted it out under warranty, but still.

I usually wait a bit to see if there's any bugs to be worked out. I even go to the store and play with it, drool over it a little before I buy it. Guess I'm lame.

No, your smart. That is, unless there's a major shortage, then your SOL :D

Doesn't much matter to me if I wait a month or two. There's usually nothing wrong with the current phone I use at the time. I'm not one who needs the latest and greatest asap. I'd rather get a device that's been proven real world first as opposed to initial internet unboxing "it's so amazing" reviews. Lol.

We could use your guidance. Many of us here are hopeless tech junkies in serious financial straits.

I'm in no means anyone to give guidance. I am a tool. A power tool for that matter. I too don't have the money to blow, hence why I do Verizon payment plan. But an example of why I wait a bit, last year in my area almost everyone I knew who bought the 7/7+ had issues with dropping /no signal. It became a topic on here. Blame went back and forth between carrier and manufacturer before the issue was resolved. So I waited until my friend's phones started working before I took the plunge. That's all I'm saying. Sometimes being an early adopter isn't always the best.
