Considering its less than a month old, they would probably let you change colors since you could return it and buy a new one anyways.

But other than that, no.

at the genius bar they wont let you switch colors.. and if you return before 30days at the store and get a different color, they will charge you a 10% restocking fee.

Apple Stores dropped the iPhone restock fee years ago when they required that you let them open the box in the store and activate it before you left. Because of that requirement, you couldn't return it, unopened.

Under 30 days, you're still within the return window, so put the iPhone and all of its accessories in the box and take it (and the receipt) to the store, return it, and buy a white one.

If you ever get a replacement thru the Genius Bar, never say never, but the policy is you get the same model/color as a replacement as the one that broke.

i should of clarified it, if you buy from an at&t store they will charge you a 10% restocking fee. I just went through this, switching black to white.

In fact, Apple dropped ALL restock fees on Jan. 11. No matter if it is an iphone, ipod, or imac, you can return or exchange without any consequences.

as far as the different color thing. Bring your box and all accessories with you to the genius appt. Since you are within the return period they will just have you return that phone and exchange it for the black one. However, as others stated, If you wait until after the return period is up, all you will be able to do is have it warranty exchanged for the same exact model color and all.

I broke my phone and am looking to purchase a $199 phone replacement, can I also ask for a different color phone?

True, but if you bought it from an At&t store, there is a restocking fee.

thanks guys
reason for returning the white iphone is the screen is super super yellow just gross. And I heard black ones dont really have this problem.

It's a problem you have a chance of encountering no matter what color iPhone 4 you buy. If you like the white iPhone 4, try getting a replacement before you change colors!
