5.0 was released like two months ago... why do you need a new upgrade? Better yet, do you know of anything 5.1.0 might bring that you "need" it that bad?
yes, most of the improvements I want relate to iTunes match.
1) Stop it constantly polling, battery life has fallen throgh the floor with match on.
2) be able to specify local files. I want a couple of playlists to always be on my phone, match removes them arbitarily.
3)be able to add non match files to a phone with match enabled.
4) match recheckes everytime you select a playlist for additions, takes 5 or so seconds to select a playlist.
the big one, stability, core apps crash several times a day (settings, iPod, and so on)
You don't need a 0.1.0 increase then, all you need a 0.0.1 increment in the software update. Those are all bugs you mention.
2 and 3 are features.
I don't really care what they call it, but I'm sure I've seen that 5.1 is in beta, I've seen no reference to 5.0.2.
You never know. I can claim its a 5.2.0 release... but you never know. We can sit here and guess all day long. In the end, 5.1.0 will not be out anytime soon.

It's time.
Safari crashes regularly now and never did before -- iPad 2 & 4S.
Now I connect a call and suddenly people can't hear me.
Wouldn't mind seeing a normalized battery drain, as well.
I'm a looong time iPhone lover, but this is getting to be a bother. C'mon Apple!

i want the mail app to stop crashing in the background... which means i have no mail alerts till i manually close and reopen the app... amateur ****
Even if the mail app has crashed shouldn't your mail still be pushed to your device. Even if you have Gmail and therefore no push your mail should still be fetching mail every 15 minutes or whatever time you set it for.
