1. There is simply no space for SuperDrive in MBA

2. Can you get movies or software in SD card? No. It's only useful for photographers and possibly file transfer but you can't get any content in SD card, it's all in DVD or Blu-Ray

They should start selling media on SD cards.

The great thing about Apple is that their old products still look classic. The new design sure isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Seriously? The Aluminium PowerBook G4 was introduced in January 2003 and the design stayed with us until October 2008, five years and nine months. In 2012 the Unibody design will become four.

I think he means the world will be "ending" haha

If the demonsavatar is happy with his current vertical space, then he should be happy if they expand horizontally - he will actually gain horizontal space and have the same vertical space.

Yeah if they just increase the width that would be great. But 1600x900 and 1366x768 seem to be the trend.

If they don't want to downgrade us, replacing the hi res 1680x1050 with 1920x1080 is the only option. 1920x1080 on a 15" might get a bit tricky to read though, even for those with good eyes.

Minor tweaks or complete redesign?

This is something I've been wondering for a while. I can certainly see 16:9 displays coming sooner rather than later, but maybe with the same aesthetics otherwise.

I think the next truly MAJOR design re-haul will be a bit further down the pike and affect the entire Apple line. Starting the transition with the aluminum Mac Pros and iMacs, and most recently with the iPhone 4, Apple has achieved a sleek uniformity in their entire line of products. Black and aluminum, rectangular with rounded edges, glass, etc. Before that (early/mid 2000s) the entire Apple line was the clean white/plastic look. And before that (late 90s/early 2000s) it was the white with the clear, multicolored accents

It's interesting to think what the next design revolution will be for the brand....

If Apple moves to 16x9 screens, that would require a major chassis redesign. The iMac is 16x9, and if the anticipated new ACDs are also 16x9, the writing is on the wall for the next of generation MPBs.

new case?

+1

They probably won't change the design until a new chip is released. And even then we may not see a huge change.
It's all Apple's call but I think most people, including Apple, love the functionality and design of the current Pros. There is no need to invest in a redesign right now.

And I'm sure no one here knows. For all we know, Apple could release a new MBP tomorrow that's redesigned and can make you a sandwich while flying to work or school. ;)/QUOTE]

LOL!!!!:D
