Um... I'd sell now!

I've purchased pretty much every iPhone on release date except the 4S.... Each time I have sold my previous phone after the new one is in my possession. the difference in money is usually so low its not even worth giving up your iphone so early. On average from posting it before to see offers and looking at phones that have sold, its about a $30 to $40 difference.... so long as you have the previous outgoing generation.

Interesting...
I already listed mine though, so not much I can do about that now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a used iphone sub-$100. Maybe from a friend who has an extra or something.. I'll "rent" it for a month #

I'm praying that we can preorder as well! I was lucky enough to keep myself awake on last year's launch day to hawk in front if the computer until 3:01. Only took 10 days, but those 10 days were sooooo long. I don't know what I would've done if I had to wait until November. An hour after I placed my order, anticipated deliveries were 2-3 months.

My iPhone 5 32gb from VZW got a little bit wet when I was at the beach and the water damage indicator in the SIM slot is pink but the phone itself works perfect.

The only issue is that when using an app that can go either Portrait or Landscape, it doesn't rotate (e.g. watching a video in Youtube, you can only watch in Portait mode), so I guess the accelerometer is bad? But other than that the screen is flawless, all functions work perfectly. Is there anywhere that I would be able to sell it for a decent price?

I didn't try that, but I was looking at Apple's Reuse/Recycle program and it doesn't even ask about water damage, just asks if the phone works or not and mine meets the criteria for it to work (no cracked screen, no internal components exposed). So I was thinking about just sending it in that way maybe instead. If I can even get like $200 for it I'd be happy.

Considering the limitations you specified, Id say you could certainly get $200 for it. Even on eBay!
I saw an unlocked 16GB 4S sell for $220 for parts (broken) yesterday.

I have a iPhone 5s 32gb Gold Factory unlocked.

I just sold it for $630 on eBay. But after shipping and fees I'll make $540

Is that a good price? Im shipping it tomorrow, I paid almost $800 on launch day from Apple. So I lost $260.

If the iPhone 6 32gb sells for $700 like the iPods now, that means I have to pay a little less then $200 over my iPhone 5s.

I think its a decent price. Might try Craigslist next year.

Thanks, according to the Apple thing, I'd get a $245 gc so I'd be willing to do that and buy the next iPhone outright I guess maybe.

That's a great price. Did you have any bundled items?

I'm hoping to sell mine for 750 or higher.. A little but of a stretch but it's a big steal at that price. The package I'm selling is $1100 and my phone is pristine.
I'm already at $230 after a day ....

Ya, just a cheap $1 case, some stickers I have, 2 screen protectors from a stack I bought on sale at XTREME Guard (I personally hate putting screen protectors), and a stylus I never used.

Heres my listing.

I think swappa has a section for phones such as yours. Might want to check that out.

Selling now will help maximise the price one receives. I've noticed a collapse in Apples resale value since iPhones became commonplace. Seen everywhere they no longer hold their resale value like before everyone and their grandma bought one.

Me personally, i can never sell my old phones. I always keep them around, sometime they come in handy around the house. I agree that it should be sold as soon as possible, once the new iPhone drops, everyone is gonna want to get rid of their old one.

I love to keep my old phones around as well! I am just selling this one for the money honestly. If I was ready for my upgrade, I definitely would've kept my 5S ;)

Pretty good! Seems like a very fair price and your phone was like right out of the box.
Which phone are you using in the meantime?

An iPhone 4!

Its so SLOW compared to my 5s. But I think its better to use a crappy phone before a new iPhone launch because it makes you appreciate it more!

Haha I know, I'm not looking forward to going back to 3G for a month.
But right now, my concern is finding an i4 to use :apple:

I am also looking to sell my iPhone 5 but it seems it's better to sell before the event but I can't do that as this my only phone. What can I expect to get for a mint iPhone 5 64 GB white verizon iPhone. It has no scratches and used a zagg HD from day 1 and a case.

Can you sell it as "good" condition on Gazelle?

Gazelle typically offers a good service, but their prices are significantly lower than some other alternatives. They will buy phones that are broken and in good condition, but you may be a bit disappointing in the price you are quoted if your device is in excellent shape. If you are looking to sell your iphone without any hassles, try other "instant" buyback sites like BuyBackWorld or Nextworth. If you rather do it yourself, take photos, collect payment, etc, then try Craigslist or eBay for a slightly better price. I'm not sure if it is a little too early before the iPhone launch, but the instant buyback sites usually offer price locks until October. The buyback prices on buybackworld and nextworth are still competitive so if you do have some older phones sitting around collecting dust, now would be the best time to sell them. From my experience, the offer and resale prices drop significantly across all older iphone generations when a new version is released.
