I see it may already be answered.. but as the beta has wrapped up, all I need to do is turn beta updates to “off” and the RC should roll around soon ? Or keep beta update turned on for the RC in a few weeks time ?

You will need to have your betas ON to install the RC, which will come out on Monday, 09.09. Once this is installed, you can turn betas off.

With betas off, if the public release has the same build as the RC, there will be nothing to install for you on the public release day. However, if the public release has a newer build, you will still be offered to install it as with any other non-beta updates.

iOS 18 finally fixed one of my outstanding bug reports (I filed it with iOS 14.3, I believe this was the update anyway, whatever one came out with the iPad Magic Keyboard). I use the Messages app to get in orders for my job, so I copy/paste multiple messages at a time into Pages and print them from there. Though, one at a time worked fine.

Prior to iOS 18, these messages would just not paste into Pages. I can paste them into any other app, then re-copy and paste into Pages from there. Or I can select them, and drag and drop into Pages. But again, could never just copy and paste.

So, I'm just unusually happy about this one bug fix alone.

Just curious, and I am sure I am missing the bleeding obvious, but why is the list of compatible phones formatted with the spacing between 13 and 12?

Are the models below the space supported, but not able to use all of the new functions?

Why the space.jpg

I switched to 18 for the 'Send Later' option in messages.
I've been using it since beta 3 and it's been rock solid.

Nah, just a formatting glitch. There is no actual difference in functionality between iPhone 12 and 13, the only cutting point is before iPhone 15 Pro and after. Other than that, every iPhone that is running iOS 17 will be running iOS 18.0.

iOS 18 public beta isn't ready for anyone to use daily. Tons of app crashes and general unstable behavior.
Pffft

I've been on 18 since DB1 and it's been surprisingly stable for me

Aside from the random respring every now and then, these betas have been some of the better ones in terms of stability

Heck, even most of my 3rd party apps didn't have much of an issue, aside from Waze in one of them (had an issue where on CarPlay I couldn't do incident reporting; it was promptly fixed in a subsequent beta though)

Wait a minute are you telling me Apple is already installing iOS 18 on the iPhones set to be released in a couple of weeks? Who could have possibly have thought of that!
